I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, likely every time a drop of alcohol touches my tongue: That was one hell of a season of Love Is Blind: UK . The first UK season of our fav pod-based dating show did not disappoint, in my not-so-humble opinion. We had a staggering number of couples to follow, plenty of girl’s girls calling out men and reminding them that they ain’t shit, and a classic villain. My group chats have revolved solely around Love is Blind: UK and which couples would say “I do,” and I literally have no idea what we’ll yap about now (taking suggestions). I must say the real winner of these weddings was those snazzy matching sweatpants sets everyone seemed to be wearing. Can someone at Netflix hook a girlie up? So after the final two episodes, it’s time to discuss which Love is Blind: UK couples got hitched and are still together.
Love Is Blind: UK Couples Who Are Still Together
Sabrina and Steven
OBVIOUSLY they got the most obvious couple out of the way first. Sabrina and Steven were the first to get engaged in the show and barely considered anyone else in the pods. They’ve had no bumps along the way, with the only question being whether they’ll move to Belfast at some point. They are like mom and pop by now; I am obsessed with them. I am also obsessed with Sabrina’s bangs, drop your hairdressers’ deets girlie.
I was like 99% sure these two would get married, but that 1% still had me SHAKING. If they didn’t make it, there is no hope for my own desolate love life. But with Sabrina telling cameras, “Everyone deserves a happy ending and I’m just so happy I’m going to get mine,” and Steven explaining “the love I’ve got for Sabrina and that she’s got for me is a forever thing,” it seemed a done deal. In their vows, Steven mentioned their daily checks in, which seems like a sure way to a happy marriage.
And then, after a lot of waffling, the pair both said “I do”!!! Love is real!!!! I am so happy for them and immediately making my own application to the show.
In the words of Sabrina: MR AND MRS SMITH IN DA HOUSE!!
Maria and Tom
Being a Woman in STEM (i.e. a reality TV obsessed sloth), I’ve cracked the code. We start with an obvious yes and follow it with a no. It’s science, I swear. So when Maria and Tom followed, I was concerned. Things start off on a rough note with Tom’s mom sticking to her guns and not coming to the wedding.
This couple was less clear cut than the Smiths (LIB version not the indie band every fuckboy claims to love), as they had some big clashes of values and dating etiquette. Tom also misrepresented his conversation with Tash, another contestant who was on the show, and seemed a little too eager in his flattery.
Then we got to the vows, and Tom, sir, please get tips from Steven for all future vows you need to write. Maria straight up lied to herself and claimed Tom lets her be who she is “one hundred percent without judgement.” Are we forgetting how rude he was about your job? So we are forgetting him literally admitting he JUDGED you for being a makeup artist? Okay, cool cool. Tom progressively got more and more red in the face, until he finally admitted, “I love you but I just feel like now is not the right time for me.” He then went off to stomp around the moors like Heathcliff with a mustache. It seemed the whole who pays for dates things had really stuck, and he ultimately felt Maria wouldn’t raise their future daughters to be “independent women.” Yikes.
Demi and Ollie
See, I was very unsure of how this couple was going to go. They had so many red flags but also seemed to genuinely celebrate these, and IDK they were kinda cute? Notably, Ollie was torn between Catherine and Demi before progressing with the latter (when someone dumped someone, we won’t get into WHO in case cups are thrown). The couple took a while to find their stride but then seemed to be getting on well. It was a little odd that Demi wouldn’t meet his family until the wedding but scheduling with people in the summer is such a hassle, like I don’t know the last time I saw my pals.
“I see myself as a wife” seemed Demi’s main reason to be getting married, and then the whispering at the altar was giving bad vibes already. Then Demi pulled out the “I love you” sentence opener, which is never a good sign. Like don’t let those three words confuse you, they are bad news at weddings. It is always followed by a big ol’ BUT. “It’s not an ‘I do not and I’m going to walk away from you forever,’ it’s an ‘I do not for now’, because honestly the time we’ve spent, I feel like you’ve seen me and I love you,” explained Demi. Ollie seemed to take it well, telling the crowd that this is “Not the end of Demi and Ollie, not by a longshot.” Delulu or optimistic, we’ll find out at the reunion on Monday.
Jasmine and Bobbie
Okay, I don’t want to speak poorly of Jasmine’s mom, as people are doing enough online and it’s not my place to add to it (see that? Very demure, very mindful). But right from the get go, we’ve got Jasmine upset as her mom isn’t Team Bobbie. While I’m not sure she’d support anyone Jasmine is with, I find it especially funny that she thinks Jasmine is more into Bobbie than he is to her. Like no momma, no!! Bobbie is a SIMP for that gorgeous girl. Bobbie is worshipping Jasmine.
Also the best advice came from Bobbie’s mom, “Get some prosecco down you and go smash it.” Agreed!! Well, they did as instructed and made me get teary with their vows. Bobbie told Jasmine, “I fell in love with your soul.” Jasmine spoke about how he made her feel deserving of a love like this, and how “love shouldnt be combative, love should be accepting and kind” —send that to your bestie with a shit boyf.
Bobbie said “I do” and a brief pause made us worry that Jasmine was going to listen to her mom, but then she said “I do”!!! Cutest moment is the whole wedding reception dancing to Bobbie’s thirsty ass song. I wonder if the bikini babe was in attendance too.
Nicole and Benaiah
Okay, so these two have been on a journey, wowza. They’re giving Bliss and Zac from the US version. Nicole initially chose Sam and got engaged, only to immediately end it afterwards. They didn’t even make it to Greece — Sam missed out on that tzatziki. They had a few lil hiccups around Sam, but for the rest seemed like good vibes. Nicole was also worried Benaiah would struggle to let go of his nomadic lifestyle.
As we were watching, I told my sister that I didn’t think Nicole would go ahead with it given her doubts, as she already has one failed marriage under her veil. But my sister turned to me and wisely said, “No one goes into two failed marriages thinking they’ll have two failed marriages.” WOAH. She turns 31 and suddenly she’s the prophet of reality TV, I swear.
Benaiah described their bumps as a good thing, as “rough seas make for good sailors,” and he didn’t hesitate to say YES YEP YES. Nicole took a lil more mystery but ultimately said “I do.”
Catherine and Freddie
WOOF. THE COUPLE THAT DIVIDED NATIONS. Since the last episodes had aired, TikTok went wild with a clip of Catherine on another reality TV show like seven years ago, where she also had some haters. Catherine and Freddie settled on each other quite fast after she dumped/got dumped by Ollie (who knows), and he even confirmed recently on Instagram that he didn’t have romantic connections with anyone else in the pods. They looked like a total Barbie and Ken, and initially good vibes all around.
But then things started going downhill. Catherine couldn’t move past Freddie’s reveal that he once cheated on a former girlfriend. Freddie felt misunderstood in his humor (I get you, baby!!) and Catherine felt like everything didn’t need to be a joke. A lot of Freddie’s main concerns revolved around their differing lifestyles. Catherine apparently described herself as enjoying “bougie” things while Freddie likes to chill on the couch — marry me, no really.
On the day of the wedding, Catherine discovered a beautiful letter and fancy earrings from Freddie, which made it really seem like he was planning to go through with things. Her friendgroup of two or three identical blonde women (I can’t tell, sorry) all seemed hopeful of the same. Freddie’s sister, the iconic Betsy-Dora expressed her doubts to him about their compatibility. Also my loverboy made me chuckle when he joked “Im a pro at funerals but maybe not so much weddings.”
At the altar, Catherine nervously fidgeted with her slut strands (hair stylist: why??) and said “I do.” But then Freddie started with the bad luck sentence opener, and said, “I love you, Cat, but the timing might not be right for us.” RUH ROH.
Cat was understandably devastated, despite Freddie’s hope they could still date. She was quick to remove the earrings, and their future was left unclear. Popular LIB podcast Out of the Pods also revealed that it seems none of the contestants follow Catherine on Instagram, and the only one she follows is Sam… who she was seen flirting with during a previous episode. Did someone play musical partners? Perhaps the reunion will reveal more…
