Summer House’s season 9 pirate party is easily one of my favorite costume extravaganzas to date, and not just because Ciara and Amanda dressing like fowl (as in birds) made me IJBOL. The party also revealed that Carl Radke has a new lady on his previously drip-dry roster, one who may or may not be able to fill the hole Lindsay and her couch left in his heart. Lil is the girlie teased in the trailer who likens Carl to a lemur, and, perhaps surprisingly, we learn this is actually some serious flirting (and not a subtle cry for help). Did Carl cheat on Lindsay with Lil?
When Lil started opening up about her meet-cute with Carl, the timeline raised some questions, especially for Hubb House. After Carl’s SoftBar soft launch in episode 8, Lil was explaining to Imrul that she and Carl met when she slid into his DMs following an NYFC game where Carl connected with her parents. Said NYFC game was in the summer, meaning the same summer when Carl and Lindsay were still engaged. After Gabby confirms, “That was last summer, right?” Lil says yes, and even Imrul picks up on the shady timeline, commenting, “So [Carl’s] kind of known you for a year at least?”
Why does this matter now, considering Lindsay was with child, and this couple is dunzo? Carl and Lindsay were in the throes of their crumbling relationship at the time, but Lindsay (for whatever reason) had every intention of marrying him. Even after the breakup, Carl has never admitted that he wanted to call it quits with Lindsay for a while before he eventually did, stating at the reunion that he thought they could still save things in their final apartment scene (lol, love his optimism).
When Gabby spills the tea about Lil to Lindsay, it triggers Lindsay to remember a time when she saw Carl hide a DM from her after attending a football game. So just how long has Lil been in the picture as Carl’s fan girl?? Lindsay is majorly POed that Carl played innocent in initiating the breakup when she now believes he may have already had a backup plan teed up.

Lil dropped a spicy lil’ clapback on Instagram one day after episode 8 of SH aired to clarify that she did not DM Carl during the summer, after all. Lil shared a screenshot of her first-ever message to Carl (dated October 21, 2024) with the caption “hey hey!!!! idk who taught y’all your months, but when I learned them in school, October comes AFTER august!!! xo.” Well, pop off then, tiny dancer!
The thing is, Gabby did explicitly ask Lil if she met Carl in the summer, right after the now infamous NYFC game, and Lil said yes. Why didn’t Lil say no when Imrul pointed out that she must have known Carl for a year if it was actually much less than that (eight-ish months)? I mean, the DMs don’t lie, but girl, so confusing.

Lil Aronoff is Carl’s new “friend,” as the producers put it, but it’s clear the artist and Carl and gearing up to date from her first appearance on Summer House in season 9, episode 6. Lil is a dancer who graduated from NYU Tisch in 2018. The New York native (from the city burbs) is a fitness instructor at a boutique studio in New York, a model (okay, abs!), and a photographer. TLDR: Lil is booked and busy in the arts. If she also happens to give super tight hugs, she could be Carl’s perfect match.
How did Carl and Lil meet?
Carl and Lil initially linked up (sans guyliner) after Carl first met Lil’s parents sitting next to them at a soccer game, as Amanda spilled on SH. Lil later elaborated that she met Carl by sliding into his DMs during the summer of 2024. I guess Lil’s parents had their heads on a swivel for their little girl and played matchmaker for Lil and Carl. Honestly, I kinda stan getting the family blessing out of the way from jump.

When Lil was filming the show during the summer of 2024, Carl was still in his “rusty” and “awkward” phase, so much so that he’d not yet take Lil out on a date. Now that it’s been six months since the summer, these two could be in a full-blown relaysh or just friends. I’ll def be staying tuned at the reunion to find out.
In episode 8, Carl says he was enjoying how much Lil liked him and “wanted to explore that” because it felt good after his disastrous breakup. He finds Lil “cute” (duh) and doesn’t have much more to add than that. Now, this kinda sorta sounds like classic rebound behavior when you put it that way, Carl.
