If you’re a real K.Dot fan, you know his name is Kendrick Lamar (and that to him, a Benz is just another car). The rapper/hitmaker/low-key poet is responsible for plenty of chart-topping, game-changing music moments in the rap game from his debut album good kid mA.A.D city to his petty summer 2024 pop off, “Not Like Us.” With a fresh record, GNX, released in November 2024, and a highly anticipated Super Bowl performance in 2025, Kendrick is going to remain the it girl of the rap game for the foreseeable future. Which is why I decided to enlighten the girlies with some pertinent news: Kendrick Lamar is pretty much off the market. This isn’t hot-off-the-press tea, but considering Kendrick and his fiancée, Whitney Alford, keep their love super private, it’s not exactly common knowledge. Let’s take a look at Kendrick Lamar’s relationship history before he drops another album.

Kendrick Lamar is currently engaged to Whitney Alford, his high school sweetheart. The two have been inseparable since they were teenagers, which is why Kendrick told Billboard that Whitney is not just “his girl” or “companion.” She is his “best friend…she’s somebody [he] can tell [his] fears to.” Kendrick grew up in Compton, where he met his “Day 1” at the same school.
Kendrick proposed to Whitney in 2015, the same year he released the jazz-inspired record To Pimp A Butterfly.

Whitney is the same age as Kendrick, which is currently 37 years old as of 2024.
Yes, Kendrick and his partner Whitney have two children together named Uzi and Enoch Duckworth. The names of their 5-year-old daughter and younger son (born closer to 2022) were revealed in the lyrics of songs on Kendrick’s Grammy-award-winning fifth album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. The whole family appeared in Kendrick’s 2024 music video for “Not Like Us.”
No, Kendrick has been with his fiancée long before he became a famous rapper, so he has never publicly dated anyone else. Because the couple is so private and posts sparingly about their personal life, the media has speculated about potential cracks in their relationship. One such flimsy rumor stemming from a Drake diss lyric claimed that Kendrick had cheated with a member of a “celebrity circle,” which speculators took to indicate the Kardashians. Some interpretations of Drake’s 2020 song “POPSTAR” have led fans to believe that Drake also hinted Whitney cheated on Kendrick Lamar with Kendrick’s bodyguard.

Kendrick has spoken about being with other women in his music, like on the 2022 track “Mother I Sober.” Kendrick rapped the lyrics “Insecurities that I project, sleepin’ with other women / Whitney’s hurt, the purest soul I know, I found her in the kitchen / Askin’ God, “Where did I lose myself? And can it be forgiven?” On the same album, Kendrick details his sexual experiences with white women, one being when he was 16 in California and the next being when he was on tour in Copenhagen for GKMC in 2013 (after his high school romance with Whitey Alford had begun). On “Father Time,” Whitney’s vocals are used for the female narrator telling Kendrick “You really need some therapy.”
In 2013, a mixtape by Kendrick called Overly Dedicated included the lyrics, “I’m in these streets with everybody, I’m tryna get it / and she know they got me / I watch her feelings watch me” on the song “Growing Apart (To Get Closer).” Back when Kendrick and Aubrey weren’t in a blood feud, Kendrick recorded an interlude for Drake’s Take Care. On “Buried Alive,” Kendrick said that he “‘[lives] a double life and [needs] to let her go” about his “best friend” who “loves [him] more than life.”
The Kendrick Lamar EP (released in 2009) may include the rapper’s first love songs dedicated to Whitney, titled “She Needs Me” and “Determined.” On DAMN (released in 2019), Kendrick raps about how if he doesn’t have his love, he “got nothin.” He laments, “I’d rather you trust me than to love me.”
