With bleached hair, a love of deli quart containers, and an impressive lack-of-fear of the mandoline, Logan Moffitt is only missing a smoking habit to join the cast of The Bear. The breakout TikTok star (aka @logagm) has amassed over 4.3 million followers for his cucumber content, despite not having any professional culinary training. (He graduated in April with a bachelors in communications.) Instead, his love of home cooking and travel is what often inspires his daily videos that have become the internet’s latest obsession. (Cucumber is brat if you think about it.)
If I had access to cucumber-based economic records, I’m sure Logan would be a direct reason for a rise in the cucumber market. (In a recent video, Logan shared a grocery haul where he purchased 15 cucumbers to keep up with his recipe demands.) Unfortunately, the timing of his virality hasn’t been great. A salmonella outbreak linked to cucumbers has led to massive recalls. However, according to the CDC, the products currently on the market aren’t a risk to the public. So, if you find yourself — as Logan likes to say — needing to “eat an entire cucumber” you should be fine. And I wouldn’t be surprised if you were craving the vegetable as Logan’s recipes make it very tempting.
After I fell down TikTok’s cucumber rabbit hole, I found a story by Delish titled What Do We Know About The Cucumber Guy? To which the response was simply: “There isn’t that much known about the creator.” Refusing to believe this is true, I spoke with the 23-year-old Ottawa-based content creator about his cucumber lore and any plans he has for the future.
Q&A With Logan Moffitt, AKA The Cucumber Guy
This interview has been edited for length and clarity.
Betches: How many cucumbers do you eat in a day? A week? You must be the most hydrated person alive.
Logan: It started with: you have to eat an entire cucumber in a day. But it’s gotten to the point where I’m eating more than one a day now for the videos. I have so many ideas and there’s so many people requesting new cucumber recipes. So I’m making a lot more than usual now.
B: Real talk. Are you peeing constantly?
That’s the goal though, right? It sucks, but that’s how you know you’re hydrated. Part of the reason why I started eating the full cucumber was because I’m trying to drink more water — and cucumber is 95% water. I thought, why not just eat more cucumber, eat more vegetables, you’ll be more hydrated, your skin will be better. Everything’s better when you’re hydrated.
B: What got you into cucumbers? Walk me through your transition from Kimchi Boy to Cucumber King.
L: I’ve been obsessed with cucumbers ever since I was really young. It’s always been my favorite vegetable. If I ever thought dinner was lacking greenery or a vegetable, I would really just chop up tons of cucumber and put salt on it and just eat it on the side.
So, I’ve always been a cucumber enthusiast and I’ve been making these cucumbers in the deli containers. I’d usually eat them when I was down bad for cucumber. And then one day I was just like, why not film my little cucumber salad thing that I make? And then people really liked it, so I was just like, okay, I’ll try a different variation. And then people really liked it, so I just kept sharing it.

The kimchi thing kind of came before I ever went to Korea. I just had been making it at home myself a lot and started to upload it. And then people were really interested that I was making kimchi and wondering what it is. And a lot of people like it as well. So that was kind of the first thing that I had that took off online. But it’s funny to see the people who know me from then, because the people who know me now and they’re like, ah, Logan’s not Kimchi Boy, Logan’s Cucumber Boy. And then the Cucumber people were like, oh no, it’s Kimchi Boy.
B: Were you a picky eater as a kid? Did you ever feel an affinity to Veggie Tales, specifically Larry the Cucumber?
L: No, I’ve never been a picky eater. I’ve always loved vegetables and good food. I didn’t really like processed foods and stuff like that. I’d rather like home cook stuff, you know what I mean?
I learned to cook from a young age, mostly from YouTube. I watched a lot of Laura Vitali and then Jamie Oliver and I would also watch the OG Korean food YouTube chef Maangchi. She’s been doing it for so long. She still does it! I learned literally everything I know about Korean food from her.
B: What is your favorite or most requested cucumber-based recipe?
L: My favorite one for sure is the salmon with everything-bagel seasoning and cream cheese one. I don’t know exactly what to call it, but that one’s super good. It’s like a Nova-lox-avocado-New-York bagel, but to me better because it’s pure crunchy, pure cucumber flavor. Basically everything good about a loaded bagel in a cucumber.
B: Your comments are filled with followers begging for a cucumber salad cookbook. Any plans in the making?
L: It’s definitely shocking to see how many people are excited about cucumbers. I didn’t really expect a vegetable to have so much power, especially when I’ve been excited about cucumber for so long. It’s hilarious to see so many other people sharing the same excitement, and I think it’s a good thing to be a part of, right? Because it’s very healthy snack, it’s super easy. You can customize it to any person’s taste. So I’m just really happy about how it’s gone so far.
I don’t have a defined endgame because I know these TikTok trends come and go really often. So I’m just excited to keep on sharing as many new cucumber recipes as I can think of. And I’ve seen a lot of people every day commenting about a cucumber cookbook, so that’s definitely something I’m going to look into and hopefully see one day.
B: Is there anything else that you’d want to share about yourself? I was researching before I chatted with you and I came across a story about how the internet doesn’t really know much about you besides the cucumbers.
L: I feel like there’s not much to me. It’s funny when I see that as well. I’ve noticed there’s stuff that’s like, we don’t know much about him, but I’m like, what is there about me?
B: You’re happy to be an enigma that eats cucumbers.
L: Yeah, exactly!
