Rihanna may be Mother to all of society, but she’s most concerned about parenting her actual kids with A$AP Rocky. The “We Found Love” singer and the “Praise the Lord” rapper have been dating since 2020, and they’ve welcomed a few sons together over the years. Plus, they just announced that they have a new baby on the way! Rihanna showed up to the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” Met Gala (extremely late) with a stunning Marc Jacobs fit and a very evident baby bump. A$AP was one of the co-chairs for the event, but the baby news kinda stole the show.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Rihanna opened up about the complexities of juggling motherhood and pop stardom. “Every decision I make revolves around them, but everything that I do that I love robs me from them,” she said about her kids. “So I have a weird resentment with the things that I love. You almost feel like something is always suffering for you to show up somewhere.” (Hence the album delay.)
So, how many kids does Rihanna have and how old are they now? When is she having her new baby? Here’s everything to know about Rihanna’s kids and her pregnancy.

At the moment, Rihanna and A$AP share two sons (who both have iconic names): RZA and Riot. The singer and the rapper welcomed RZA on May 13, 2022 and named him after producer and rapper RZA, the leader of the Wu-Tang Clan. It didn’t take long for RZA to follow in his parents’ footsteps and become a star: By nine months old, he scored his first British Vogue cover. WTF was I doing at nine months old? Why didn’t I get my ass up and work like RZA? For the photo, RZA posed in his dad’s arms as A$AP kissed him on the forehead and Rihanna walked ahead of them.

The couple’s second son, Riot, was born on August 1, 2023. Rihanna announced that pregnancy in a particularly epic way — she debuted her baby bump on stage at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show! As for Riot’s name? That was actually Pharrell Williams’ idea. He collaborated with A$AP Rocky on the track “RIOT (Rowdy Pipe’n),” which dropped just before Riot was born.
In her interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Rihanna opened up about her sons’ distinct personalities. “RZA is just an empath,” she shared. “He’s so magical. He loves music. He loves melody. He loves books. He loves water. Bath time, swimming, pool, beach, anything.” She called Riot “hilarious,” adding, “When he wakes up, he starts to squeal, scream. Not in a crying way. He just wants to sing.” Rihanna joked that Riot is basically her morning alarm: “I don’t know where he came from, dude.”
Rihanna’s Third Child: Everything To Know
And at the Met Gala, we found out that Rihanna has a third little one on the way. She and A$AP haven’t shared the gender or any other details yet. (Her due date is also TBD, but pregnant people generally start showing in the second trimester between 12 and 16 weeks, so that gives us a hint.) Rihanna showed off her new baby bump while posing for photos in her custom Marc Jacobs pin-striped look. “It feels amazing,” A$AP said to reporters about the exciting news. “It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up. And I’m glad everybody’s happy for us ’cause we definitely happy, you know.” So excited for them <3.
