Bonjour mes amies, or should I say ciao? Netflix woke up and chose peace by renewing their Lily Collins international romance vehicle, Emily in Paris, for a francophilic season 5 (say that five times fast). A lot changed for little Miss Emily very quickly in season four. She lost her London boo Alfie, had Gabriel basically stolen from her, and now she has to decide if she wants to give the new Italian Stallion on the block, Marcello, a fair shot. But despite the perpetual influx of steamy makeout partners and ridiculous maximalist outfits, there’s been one study EIP OG that I think needs a round of applause ahead of a hard-earned rarely received fifth season Netflix renewal.
Sylvie Grateau has been Emily’s involuntary pseudo-mommy ever since that Chicago betch touched down in Paris and she’s looked chic and stayed sexy every second while doing it. Not only is she single-handedly proving Hollywood wrong that actresses of a certain age have to play roles with grandma vibes, but she also reminds me every single episode the only thing better than one hottie Frenchman is two. Here’s hoping Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu gets just as many show-stopping moments in the next season. In the meantime, here’s everything we know about Emily in Paris season 5.
As of now the premiere date for the fifth season is still TBD. There was a year-and-a-half gap between seasons 3 and 4, but that was likely greatly impacted by the 2023 writers’ strike. Still, if filming begins in early 2025, we won’t see our favorite tourist again until 2026.

While the show has been teased to move to Rome to follow Emily’s next adventure, creator Darren Star has confirmed “It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris, but she’s going to have a presence in Rome.” I for one am ready for Eurostar commuting nightmare representation on screen.
The main romantic rendez-vous in season 5 revolves around a new love triangle with Emily’s latest love interest Marcello. The Italian snow bunny Emily met on the slopes (after she fell for the fifth time) is played by actor Eugenio Franceschini. Gabriel, Mindy, Camille, and Sylvie seem all but confirmed to return as their stories are far from finished. And what would Agence Grateau be without Luc and Julian? What I’m saying is I need every single character back on my screen pls & ty.
