Warning: Spoilers for The White Lotus season 3 finale ahead.
Another season of The White Lotus has come and gone, and with it we’ve finally learned who was murdered in season 3. And reader, this was a sad one. Not one, but two White Lotus guests flew home from Thailand in body bags: Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood) and Rick (Walton Goggins). Ultimately, theirs was a tragic love story, with Rick too focused on revenge and Chelsea too focused on Rick for them to be able to have a happy ending. They were victims of the resort shooting (that Rick himself started, oops) and they wound up dying in each other’s arms.
Aimee Lou and Walton brought their characters’ love story to life on screen with some really intense chemistry, and Walton said they formed an intense bond in order to do so. “We both became enmeshed in each other, the way that Rick and Chelsea are,” he told PEOPLE. Enmeshed? That sounds… intimate. Walton also posted an Instagram carousel devoted to Aimee Lou, which TBH seems pretty romantic to me.
But alas, while Chelsea and Rick had a doomed romance, Aimee Lou and Walton seem to have just a pretty happy friendship. Walton has been married since 2011, and they share a son. But what about Aimee Lou? Here’s everything we know about Aimee Lou Wood’s relationship history.
Aimee Lou Wood’s Relationship History
Before White Lotus, Aimee Lou was known for her role of Aimee (yes, same spelling as her real name and everything) on Netflix’s Sex Education. Not only did that job help spark her career, but it also gave her a major relationship.
From 2018 to 2020, Aimee Lou dated her Sex Educartion co-star Connor Swindells. Connor played Adam on the show, and Adam and Aimee (the character, not the real person) actually dated. Real life mirrored fiction when Aimee Lou and Connor also got together. But they split up in 2020, and Aimee Lou was open about how hard the breakup was for her.
“We’d had some time apart and then we realized that maybe the relationship wasn’t serving us both,” she told Grazia. “We still really love each other and respect each other. It was an okay breakup, it wasn’t dramatic. I felt like a dam burst, then all of a sudden I was hurting, but I needed to be there, because I’d become a bit numb and it was nice to suddenly feel everything again.”
Since then, Aimee Lou has been pretty quiet about her dating life. She hasn’t been seen with anyone in public, so she could just be keeping things very private. Or, she’s enjoying the single life while her career takes off. Either way, Aimee Lou has said she knows when it’s the right for her.
“Dating can be such an odd thing, it’s a lot of pressure,” she told Bustle. “But I normally know within five minutes if I’m going to get on with someone. I really believe in intuition.”
