Honestly, minus the whole nightmare of D***** T**** getting elected, I shall look back on 2024 quite fondly. This year brought us the most epic season of Love Island USA to date, Moo Deng, 10,000 iconic pop girl albums, a healthy amount of feuding, “this is gonna ruin the tour,” holding space for “Defying Gravity,” and intriguing celeb couples such as indie duo Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal. As a pop culture expert by trade, I have of course been ruminating on what’s to come in 2025. Based on a careful analysis of recent years but mostly just my intuition and random thoughts, I present: my official list of 2025 pop culture predictions. And if none of these come true, you never saw this.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift

1. Olivia Rodrigo releases a love album about Louis Partridge and he posts about it
2. Olivia Rodrigo has a small role in a movie
3. Blake Lively directs or stars in a music video for a Reputation (Taylor’s Version) vault track
4. We get the trailer for Taylor Swift’s feature film and Zoë Kravitz, Sabrina Carpenter, Margaret Qualley, and/or Dylan O’Brien are in it
5. White Lotus season 3 is criticized for being offensive and not as good as the first two seasons
6. At least one former 1D member releases a song about Liam Payne
7. Selena Gomez gets nominated for an Oscar, haters get mad, she takes a social media break
8. The following engagements happen: Tom Holland and Zendaya, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Ethan Slater
9. Blue Ivy Carter becomes a big-time actress with a major TV show or movie
10. Beyoncé releases a rock album
11. “Espresso” wins record of the year at the Grammys
12. Chappell Roan wins multiple Grammys and gives an insane speech that makes headlines
13. Ryan Murphy announces a Luigi Mangione movie or series
14. Leah Kateb, JaNa Craig, and Serena Page announce a PPG reality show or they co-found a company
15. Rob Rausch dates a pop star (probably Beabadoobee)
16. Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal break up and she writes an album about it
17. Jake Shane meets Ariana Grande and loses his shit… possibly at the For Good premiere
18. We finally get the bombshell Scooter Braun exposé
19. Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez reunite in some capacity
20. Sabrina Carpenter makes a Short n’ Sweet tour movie or documentary
21. Doechii and Kendrick Lamar collab
22. Euphoria gets canceled
23. Shawn Mendes defends Justin Baldoni
24. Grace O’Malley goes on Call Her Daddy, but doesn’t say much about Brianna Chickenfry
25. There’s a Hannah Montana and/or Camp Rock remake
26. It’s the year of Addison Rae: She’s cast as Britney Spears in the biopic and she releases a smash hit album
27. Kylie Kelce becomes one of the most important pop culture figures of our time
28. Amelia Dimoldenberg and Andrew Garfield hard launch
