If you have a strict bedtime, you might have already been asleep when the rest of the world realized Zendaya and Tom Holland are engaged (!!!). The couple subtly dropped the news at the Golden Globes when Z casually walked the red carpet with a pretty (not so) little rock on her finger. Now, I’m no professional jewelry expert, but from the photos online alone I can tell Tom Holland did good. Considering Marvel cuts some of the biggest paychecks in the biz, I’d expect nothing less. But, stay with me here, Zendaya’s ring finger dazzler is actually low-key understated when you think about some of the wild celebrity engagement rings out there. And naturally that only endears me to her more! Let’s gawk collectively at the style details of Zendaya’s engagement ring, shall we?

Very educated guesses suggest that Zendaya’s ring was a little over five carats. How do we know this? Because, as reported by People, the ring looks too much like Jessica McCormack’s 5.02ct East-West Cushion Diamond Button Back Ring to ignore. Plus, a chronically online fan uncovered an Instagram post from the jewelry brand that Zendaya had liked sooo clearly she’s a fan of the brand.
Though Jessica McCormack’s site says the price of the ring is only available by inquiry (my favorite kind of rich people speak), jewelry pros project that a “realistic budget” for a five-carat ring could hover anywhere between $100 and $150K.

Z’s ring is an east-west button-back style ring. East-west means the width of the ring setting stretches horizontally (perpendicular across your finger) instead of vertically (parallel to the length of your finger, which is referred to as north-south). A “button” on the back of a ring means the stone is encircled in a visible setting piece. In Zendaya’s case, the button is made of gold.
