“There’s something in the orange and it’s you behind these bars” is my new favorite song lyric, and no, it’s not from Zach Bryan’s deeply annoying song, “Something in the Orange.” It’s from Josh Richards and Dave Portnoy’s diss track about Zach Bryan. (In my opinion, the country singer deserves infinite albums of diss tracks.) In case you’re literally not on TikTok at all, Zach dated Josh and Dave’s BFFs cohost, Brianna Chickenfry, for a little over a year. Bri and Zach broke up in October, and she has since accused the “Pink Skies” singer of emotional abuse and claimed that he tried to silence her with $12 million. The influencer also alleged that Zach had all his previous exes sign NDAs, so they couldn’t share their own stories about him. Naturally, we’re all curious about those exes now, and I’m especially curious about Zach’s ex-wife, Rose Madden. Yup, he was married before. Zach and Rose met when they were both serving in the Navy, and they tied the knot in July 2020 in Colchuk Lake, Washington. Their marriage lasted a whole year. In a TikTok following their May 2021 split, Rose wrote, “✨when your ex husband moves out, and you are now forced to cook potatoes with a fucking pumpkin pie mold✨.” Although they have not publicly opened up about their divorce at all, fans (and haters) have done plenty of speculating. Lots of folks online are convinced that Zach cheated on Rose while she was deployed and mailed her divorce papers. Believable? Absolutely. But this is just a rumor at the moment.
I mean, his 2020 album is literally titled Elisabeth as in Rose Elisabeth Madden. Well, if Bri’s allegations are true, Rose signed an NDA and can’t publicly comment on her relationship with Zach. However, she’s managed to maker her thoughts on the matter pretty clear. On TikTok, Rose commented on a video about Dave’s Zach diss track and called it “comedy gold.” And during the November 20 episode of BFFs, Bri revealed that she and Rose FaceTimed for a few hours. “I fucking love her,” the influencer shared. “I’ve never felt more seen and validated in my life. Same with her. Oh, my gosh. She’s a great person.”
