If Morgan Wallen has no haters, I’m dead. Let’s just make that very clear. I can’t begin to understand why this diabolical country singer was even allowed to set foot in 30 Rock, but it doesn’t surprise me one bit that he basically said “fuck you” to everyone at Saturday Night Live.
In case you missed it, Morgan was the musical guest on the Mikey Madison-hosted March 29 episode. Usually at the end of the show, there’s a sweet minute or two where everyone — cast members, the host, and the musical guest — hugs and congratulates each other. But Morgan evidently wasn’t in the mood to express any gratitude or be friendly. The second the show ended, he walked right into the audience and left while everyone else mingled on stage. It was awkward as hell, but entirely on-brand. Why did Morgan Wallen walk off SNL? And why did Joe Jonas have to take his spot in the “Big Dumb Line” sketch? Here’s what we know about this diva’s (derogatory) dramatic and unprecedented exit.
During the March 29 show, Morgan performed “I’m the Problem” (at least he’s aware) and “Just in Case” from his upcoming album, I’m the Problem. Needless to say, I won’t be streaming.
Right after Mikey thanked everyone at the end of the show and said she had a “wonderful time,” Morgan whispered something into her ear and proceed to step right off the stage, walking past the camera and into the crowd. Shortly after he left SNL, he took to Instagram to share a photo of a private jet and the caption, “Get me to God’s country.” Aside from that IG Story, Morgan hasn’t commented on his swift departure.

Is it shocking that he has beef with a liberal, New York City-based comedy show that roasts people like himself? Not in the slightest. Morgan was canceled years ago for being racist and for making out with college girls in Alabama during the height of Covid. He was suspended from his label in 2021, but the man’s been miraculously uncanceled and continues to be given elite platforms such as SNL for some reason. I fear his fanbase *cough white conservatives/”apolitical” people* doesn’t GAF about any of his (many) horrible controversies.
Five years ago, Morgan was actually uninvited from SNL after the whole college girls x Covid scandal. But they ended up welcoming him two months after he was originally scheduled to be the musical guest. So yeah, he’s probably not a huge of SNL because they’ve dissed him in the past. And call me crazy, but I sincerely doubt anyone in that cast is a fan of his.
While Morgan appearing on SNL is good for their ratings and his career, I don’t think anyone involved was excited about this.

You may have noticed that Joe made a random cameo on the show last week to sing a part of “Big Dumb Line,” a Europop-esque song about stupid lines in New York. But according to Variety‘s sources, that part was initially written for Morgan, not the Camp Rock alum. Morgan apparently declined to participate. While the sources didn’t reveal why the singer turned down the opportunity, I’m guessing it’s the same reason he walked off the stage: He didn’t wanna be there! Lol. Maybe they should’ve tried making it a country song for him.
