Those of us who are cultured (chronically online) know all about the rumored drama between White Lotus season 3 costars Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood. On the show, they of course played age-gap, star-crossed lovers Rick and Chelsea… May those fictional icons rest in peace. But for a while, fans have suspected that Walton and Aimee’s off-camera journey was quite dramatic as well. There’s been suspicious Instagram activity, strange interview moments, and even hints at drama from other cast members. (Jason Isaacs recently claimed, “What happens in Thailand stays in Thailand,” which is entirely unhelpful, but intriguing.”) At long last, Aimee and Walton have both addressed the feud rumors and provided some much-needed clarity. So, WTF happened between Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood? Why did they unfollow and then refollow each other? Are they feuding? Here’s what we know about this drama, plus their responses.

Aimee Lou Wood Responds To Walton Goggins Feud Rumors
After weeks of the wild rumors, Aimee finally addressed working with Walton during an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the Met Gala. When the actress was asked if she’d make a surprise appearance during his upcoming Saturday Night Live hosting debut, she replied, “I couldn’t say, but I’m also not. I’m not doing that.” Still, Aimee didn’t object to the idea. “It would be fun,” she said. “I loved working with Walton. It was the best thing ever.” After that shocking revelation, Aimee had more words of encouragement for her White Lotus costar, adding, “He’s going to be incredible doing SNL. It’s the perfect thing for him to do. It’s going to be hilarious. I’m so excited to see it.”
Aimee and Walton also refollowed each other on Instagram on Met Gala Monday! IG the beef is squashed?

During a May interview with The Times, Walton was asked about why he and Aimee unfollowed each other… and he wasn’t a fan of that question. “I’m not gonna have that conversation,” he replied, before his publicist chimed in: “We’re not going there, thank you.” The journalist tried again to get an answer about the rumored feud and Walton still refused to offer details. “There is no conversation to be had about that,” he said. “Sharing politics on social media — it’s in a vacuum.” It’s giving: There’s most definitely a conversation to be had about that.
The journalist tried a third time to get a quote about the beef, and then Walton got really pissed: “What the fuck? Come on, buddy. Wow.” Right after that, one of his publicists cut off the interview. The way Walton could’ve just said there’s no beef, lol.
What Happened Between Walton Goggins And Aimee Lou Wood?
For a while, Walton and Aimee didn’t follow each other on Instagram, but they did follow their other White Lotus costars. The fact that the costars weren’t following each other didn’t stop Walton from posting about Aimee and their characters. Following the finale, he shared an 18-slide Instagram Story featuring photos of him and Aimee set to Fleetwood Mac’s “Silver Springs.” Ya know, the song where the chorus goes: “Time cast a spell on you, but you won’t forget me / I know I could have loved you / But you would not let me.” And it gets weirder… Aimee included that same song in her own post after the finale. Walton also posted a White Lotus photo dump on the grid with photos of himself and other cast members — and everyone is tagged except Aimee!
Plus, the way Walton has talked about Aimee in interviews is honestly wild. “We became very close very quickly,” he told People. “She was the person that mattered the most to me during this experience … We both became enmeshed in each other the way that Rick and Chelsea are.” Yes, that was him comparing their real-life relationship to their characters… who are in love.

While chatting with Vogue, Aimee shared a similar sentiment. “I think we all became a little accidentally method,” she explained. “It wasn’t even on purpose. It’s just that there was no escape … I think I was accidentally method.” Maybe they got so into their characters that the romance bled into real life a bit? IDK. But Walton is married, so that’d be very messy.
Interestingly, Timmy Ratliff (Jason Isaacs) did reveal that there was drama during filming. During an interview with Vulture, he dished: “Some people got very close, there were friendships that were made and friendships that were lost … There’s an off-screen White Lotus as well, with fewer deaths but just as much drama.” Ope! When asked about those comments during a New York Times interview, Jason emphasized that the experience “wasn’t entirely blissful” and that the cast was not “one great big homogenous happy family.” He added, “I’m not going to break ranks and say who did what to whom, but it certainly wasn’t a holiday.” Sir, you can’t just say that and not spill the tea!
Are Walton Goggins And Aimee Lou Wood Working On A New Project Together?
Perhaps this was all merely a publicity stunt? On an April 17 episode of The Viall Files, CNN entertainment journalist Elizabeth Wagmeister shared some off-the-record tea about Walton and Aimee. “There is something professionally that they are doing in the coming weeks together,” she claimed. “So if there really is a feud, this has not stopped them… It’s not like they can’t be in the same room, is my point. Because I feel that there is something on the books.” Girl couldn’t possibly be more vague if she tried. I guess we’ll find out soon enough if there really is another collaboration happening.
