Justice For Rachel Zegler: All The A-Listers Snubbed In The 2025 Tony Nominations

If you’ve been dying to see your favorite celeb on Broadway but couldn’t justify the astronomical ticket prices, I have good and bad news for you. The good news? Those ticket prices might be going down soon. The bad? That’s because your fave was most likely snubbed. It’s been a hella competitive theater season packed with A-listers from movies and TV, but only a select few of the big names were recognized for their stage performances.

Shoutout to George Clooney, who got his first Tony nom for Good Night, and Good Luck and another shoutout to Sarah Snook, who received a nomination for The Picture of Dorian Gray. Most importantly, Stranger Things and All Too Well music video icon Sadie Sink did secure her first-ever Tony nod for her performance in John Proctor is the Villain. That’s major. And Gracie Lawrence from Sex Lives of College Girls (that makes her an A-lister to me) also got her first nomination for her Broadway musical debut in Just In Time.

Other Hollywood elites like Nick Jonas, Kieran Culkin, and Rachel Zegler weren’t so lucky: Here’s a breakdown of all the biggest 2025 Tonys snubs.

Tonys Nominations Snubs 2025: Rachel Zegler, Nick Jonas, Kieran Culkin

Yes, Romeo & Juliet was nominated for best revival of a play. But The Tony Awards Nominating Committee neglected to recognize Rachel and Kit, which is an actual crime. Lives (mine) were changed at that play because of those two.

Denzel Washington And Jake Gyllenhaal (Othello)

I fear Othello didn’t get a single nom, despite the excitement around the show and the VERY expensive tickets. “Maybe we got lost in translation / Maybe I asked for too much / But maybe this thing was a masterpiece ’til you tore it all up.” – Jake (JK)

Kieran Culkin And Bill Burr (Glengarry Glen Ross)

While the star of the play, Bob Odenkirk, did earn a nom, the play didn’t get nominated in the play revival category and Kieran and Bill were also snubbed for their performances. (I doubt Kieran cares that much, considering he just won an Oscar.)

Nick Jonas (The Last Five Years)

Was this one really a snub, you ask? Based on the clips I’ve seen, that’s certainly debatable… but I’m sure poor Nick is ~jealous~ of the folks who did get nominated.

Idina Menzel (Redwood)

I know literally nothing about this musical, but how DARE the Tonys people shut out my queen, Idina? That’s blasphemy. Apparently, the musical didn’t score a single nomination.
