The Most Crucial Moments From That Instantly Iconic Timothée Chalamet Nardwuar Interview

I love you, Timmy Chalamet Bob Dylan press tour. I hope you never end. After changing the lives of a bunch of fake Timmys by showing up at his own look-alike contest and flexing his natural charm on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and The Graham Norton Show, Timmy managed to outdo himself with this insane new Nardwuar interview. He joined the Canadian journalist and musician for a gorgeously chaotic record store chat about music, his career, and his childhood. Despite the fact that this Oscar-nominated Frenchman x NYC boy is 29 years old as of TODAY (happy birthday king), Timmy effortlessly exudes gen z throughout this nearly hour-long interview and the kids can’t get enough. And by the kids I mean me.

Let’s round up the very best moments from Timothée Chalamet’s Nardwuar interview, shall we?

Timothée Chalamet Nardwuar Interview Best Moments

He was knighted by Lil B

Because of course he was. This explains a lot. (Please see the incredible historic footage above.) Timmy said in the interview that Lil B “is a hugely formative artist in my life and career.” The album, I’m Gay, apparently really spoke to him. (Does Kylie know about this?) “I was just inspired about the sense that wow, this guy’s just doing whatever the fuck he wants,” Timmy explained.

Naturally, the Dune star snuck into a Lil B talk at NYU when he was 16. He used $50 he’d made from a commercial to bribe a kid to give him a ticket. “I raised my hand,” Timmy remembered. “I got called on by him. I was telling him, I got a crush. He invited me onstage, and he knighted me.” He actually credits Lil B with his acting success because his career “took off” after the rapper called him “handsome and blessed” on that NYU stage. “I had just done Royal Pains, and then I was nominated for an Oscar by the time I was 22,” Timmy pointed out. “Shout out Lil B. Nothing possible without Lil B.” True.

“Original barb, day one”

Of course Timmy knows all the “Roman’s Revenge” lyrics… he’s an “original barb, day one.” And the man is not capping — please refer to this 2012 video of “Timmy Tin” rapping Nicki lyrics.

Dune did well”

Timmy was mildly concurred there for a second when it dawned on him that he might need to pay for the large pile of records he’d picked up in the store. After a dozen or so panicked chuckles, he admitted, “That’s fair.” When Nardwuar offered to “chip in,” Timmy insisted, “It’s okay, it’s okay, it’s okay… Dune did well.” Ya know what, sometimes you forget you’re an A-list movie star. I do it all the time.

All those shout-outs…

Shout-out to everyone and their mothers (except no shout-out to McCarthyism, ofc).
