Warning: This Olympic Couple Will Make You Cry Your Eyes Out

Usually, when a couple goes viral, it’s because of something they did that makes the rest of is give heavy side eyes. Think of the couch guy and that one groom with the most disgusting wedding vows anyone’s ever heard. But sometimes, there are rare moments when a couple is reposted hundreds of thousands of times just off of the sheer power that they’re fucking adorable. And this week, my friends, we have just that. The relationship gods smiled down at us and gifted us a video of American Olympic athlete Tara Davis-Woodhall running to her Paralympic medalist husband Hunter Woodhall.

If you’re sitting there going, “Okay so they hug… And?” Prepare yourself to watch possibly the cutest and most wholesome interaction between any couple you’ve seen on the internet.

Tara Davis-Woodhall Husband Embraces Her After Long Jump Olympic Trials

In the qualifying trials for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Tara was working through her attempts to get on the team. Finally, she landed a 7 meter long jump that landed her a spot. If that means absolutely nothing at all to you, just know this: She killed it. And as soon as the entire competition was over, she ran to her husband Hunter. They started holding each other and crying, while he tells her, “I’m so proud of you.”

She then looks at him and cries, “It was the hardest competition of my life,” to which he replies, “I know, you needed it. It’s preparing you for something better.” Then, they continue to sob into each other’s arms. And if you look really closely, you can see me hysterically crying in the corner too.

How did Tara Davis and Hunter Woodhall meet?

Tara and Hunter met back in high school when they were both running track. How do I know this? I’ve stalked the YouTube videos they made together, because I am now part of this relationship. Anyway, there were the Simplot Games in Idaho they were both competing at, and Hunter was warming up for the 400m while Tara was warming up for hurdles. She noticed how cute he was and so after he ran (and won) his race she just went up and hugged him. Hunter had apparently noticed Tara too and told his best friend how “fine” she was. They started small-talking at the awards table and when they went back to their homes, our girl Tara made the first move and DM’d him. And the rest is history. So if you’re looking for the love of your life, I say you get amazingly great at some kind of sport (like, Olympic-great) and then just meet them there. You’re welcome.
