Shows Like 'Severance' Your Outie Will Love Just As Much

Here are some things about my Outie: She loves to drink coffee first thing in the morning. She loves to pet dogs. And she really misses Severance. Now that Severance season 2 has ended, it’s as if something is missing. A part of my brain, perhaps? Or it’s just the hole Severance left when it went away.

Luckily, Severance season 3 has been confirmed, although it doesn’t have a release date yet. We do have plenty of Severance fan theories to keep us busy until then, but creator Dan Erickson says all the theories don’t have much of an impact on how the writers map out the actual storylines for the show.

“I love reading the fan theories, but you do get in your head a little bit with it and you know at the end of the day we know we have this sort of roadmap that we’ve been following since we started and we’re basically sticking to that,” Dan told PEOPLE.

There are only so many hours a day we can spend spinning our wheels over Severance theories. So, here’s a list of shows like Severance to fill the rest of the time, at least until your Innie takes over.

Shows Like Severance

Surface

Surface is another Apple TV+ show, like Severance, so you can make good use of that subscription. It’s also another sci-fi show that deals with multiple identities and memory loss. If you want more of the multiple personality/memory loss storylines from Severance, then this one is for you.

Orphan Black

Tatiana Maslany won an Emmy for her role in this series. Actually, it was multiple roles, since she played a bunch of clones who are the product of some illegal human experiments. Sounds a lot like all the weird mysteries behind Lumon.

Silo

You can go even further down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole with Silo, another Apple TV+ sci fi show (they really love sci-fi, over there, huh?). The world of Silo is a dystopia where everyone has to live in an underground bunker… only that’s maybe not exactly the case. You can do plenty of theorizing about what’s really happening once you dig into this one.

Upload

If you like your sci-fi with a little side of comedy, then Upload might be more your speed. This Amazon Prime series is all about a virtual reality afterlife, and it features some star-crossed lovers just like Mark S. and Helly R.

Black Mirror

The OG dystopian sci-fi series is back on Netflix with a brand new season that dropped on April 10. Each episode is a standalone story dark and twisty enough to warrant a whole series’ worth of theories.
