We’re halfway through Women’s History Month, and it’s clear there’s plenty of work needed to achieve equality for women. According to emerging reports, violence against women and girls worldwide has intensified since the beginning of the pandemic. And in the U.S., abortion attacks aren’t slowing down.

During the United Nations’ annual Commission on the Status of Women held on March 10, world leaders acknowledged that while there has been some progress in advancing women’s rights, plenty of challenges are ahead. “I believe it is possible to achieve gender equality in our lifetime if we seize this opportunity,” UN General Assembly President Philémon Yang said. “We are at a defining moment.”
