I’m mostly a gymnastics or no-sports-at-all girl, but I shall definitely be tuning in to watch Sha’Carri Richardson fucking dominate at the Paris Olympics. You may recall that the American track and field sprinter was (unfairly in my book) disqualified from the 2020 Olympics after she tested positive for marijuana use around the time her biological mother passed away. Now, she’s back and gearing up to collect all the gold medals at the 2024 Olympics. After all, she’s the world’s fastest woman entering this year.

If she’s your current celeb crush, I don’t blame you. The sprinter happens to be a bi queen, and she came out in an August 2015 tweet, writing, “My family know im bi.” She added an emoji of two women and one of a man and a woman at the end for good measure. Sha’Carri dated Jamaican hurdler Janeek Brown from 2019 to 2022, and it seems like they had a complicated split. Sha’Carri reportedly alleged on Instagram that Janeek abused her, and Janeek responded to the allegations during an Instagram Live. “I was abusive once that there’s physical evidence of, and we moved on, and even after then I was trying to move on from that,” Janeek said, adding, “We still got nowhere.” Sha’Carri has not spoken about this relationship in any interviews.

There are rumors that Sha’Carri’s currently dating another U.S. sprinter, Christian Coleman. There’s basically no evidence to support this internet theory (is there ever), but Christian has said some very sweet things about her. “I think somebody who’s at the forefront at women empowerment,” he said when asked about Sha’Carri at a press conference.” He also called her “a beast,” which is literally just a fact. I mean, I ship them. Why not?

Sha’Carri hasn’t recently confirmed any new romances, and she informed Vogue in a July interview that her personal life is now “off-limits.” This is very fair, but also sad for those of us who would like to know the tea. Sigh.
