In an interview with Cosmo, co-creator Shannon Burke explained, “We were pretty sure early on that this was where it was going. We thought that one of the Pogues would die almost in the very beginning in season 1, and we were pretty sure it was going to be JJ.” She claimed they just weren’t sure when they’d “play that card.”

According to Shannon, season 4 was always intended to be “JJ’s season” and “JJ’s story.” She added, “We realized pretty early on, like, Okay, we’re going to play this card now.”

What Happened Between Rudy Pankow And Madison Bailey?

The costars seemed to be friends for the first few season of the show, but things got complicated when fans started shipping them together and they were both in relationships with other people; Rudy has been dating Elaine Siemek since 2020, and Madison has been with her girlfriend, Mariah Linney, since 2020 as well. Around the time the second season aired, fans started to notice that Rudy and Madison were keeping their distance from each other, which might’ve been due to the awkward shipping situation. The extra passionate OBX fans blamed Elaine and Mariah for the costars rumored falling out and left the women lots of hateful comments on social media.
