Olivia Culpo Is Realllly Pissed Off At The Influencers Criticizing Her Wedding Look

If you don’t want your wedding dress and makeup to be criticized, I might suggest not dressing like a nun and then acting like a pick-me about it. I said what I said. Olivia Culpo, the former Miss Universe herself, recently got married to NFL star Christian McCaffrey in the most boring Dolce & Gabbana gown I’ve ever seen in my life. The dress was long-sleeved and featured a super high neckline and a skirt that could fit a small village underneath.

Unfortunately, it gets worse. In a Vogue interview about her wedding fashion, Olivia had some strange things to say. “I didn’t want it to exude sex in any way, shape or form,” she told the magazine. “When I think about Christian and what he loves and the moments that he thinks that I’m most beautiful, it’s absolutely in something like this: timeless, covered, and elegant.” Um… okay?? Olivia also said that she wore basically no makeup, an interesting flex. After TikTok creators Jessica Weslie Arena and Kennedy Bingham called out Olivia’s wedding looks and Vogue comments, the model was quick to clap back.

Here’s how Olivia Culpo has responded to wedding dress and makeup criticism.

Olivia Culpo’s Response To Wedding Dress And Makeup Criticism

TikTok creator Jessica Weslie Arena Called Out Vogue And Olivia Culpo

Jessica said what we’re all thinking: There are definitely some “weird vibes” in this Vogue interview. “Because obviously Olivia Culpo did something in order to not wear mascara, in order to not wear a lip liner, in order to not wear a pencil on her eyebrows,” she said in her TikTok about Olivia’s glam. “Be so for real, Vogue. Stop being a pick-me.” I’m with Jessica on this one. Honesty is the best policy! I’ve always said that. Always.

TikToker Kennedy Bingham (Gown Eyed Girl) Did Not Like Olivia Culpo’s Wedding Dress

Gown Eyed Girl shared some very strong opinions about Olivia’s wedding dress in a now-viral TikTok. “I have been a bridal creator for four years now, and I’ve never said this before, but I do not like this wedding dress,” she said, bluntly. Kennedy accused Olivia of “pushing this idea of what she thinks all brides should look like” and called the Vogue interview “marketing and pushing this conservative agenda.” Oof. But where’s the lie…

She also said that Olivia’s dress had no personality, which is just true. Gown Eyed Girl used similar language to Jessica when describing Olivia’s wedding look choices: “You took this disingenuous pick-me route that honestly felt more like you were thinking about your narrative than your actual marriage.” She clocked that tea.

Olivia Culpo’s Response To Criticisms Of Her Wedding Look

Shockingly, Olivia wasn’t thrilled with social media’s reaction to her dress and glam. She let us know just how bothered she was in the comments sections of both viral videos. She replied to Jessica’s TikTok, “It was an interview….. they asked me what my makeup was……………………….” I mean, fair enough, I guess.

Her response to Gown Eyed Girl was more brutal. “Wow what an absolutely evil person you are,” Olivia wrote in the comments. “I hope no one ever tears you apart in this way because it’s extremely hurtful. I love this dress, and it was everything I wanted and more.” The internet and I agree that “absolutely evil” was a bit harsh. After all, Kennedy’s just a wedding influencer who didn’t like a wedding dress, and she kinda had some valid points about Olivia “pushing an idea” of what brides should wear.

In a July 25 interview with People, Olivia reflected on the controversy and attempted to defend herself. “I was definitely very surprised,” she said. “I feel like I personally like to give people the benefit of the doubt. And unfortunately, I feel like the words I said were spun out of context to fit an agenda that I did not have.”

The model added, “The choices that I made are because I wanted to feel like they’re choices I could be proud of in 50 years. And that’s it.” She emphasized that she just wanted her dress and glam decisions to “stand the test of time.” Hmm. I fear it’s still giving pick-me.

I think we can all learn an important lesson from this drama: Don’t wear ugly wedding dresses.
