Nicola Coughlan is truly doing the Lord’s work, representing “the perfect-breasts community” as the leading lady of Bridgerton season 3. I think I speak for all of us when I say that we’re endlessly grateful to finally see ourselves on screen. Thank you for your service, queen. It’s a privilege to watch her take on Penelope x Lady Whistledown’s journey diving headfirst into a dishonest but ridiculously passionate relationship with Colin. I couldn’t be prouder to claim Polin as my religion and Regency Era carriages as my temples.
As we find ourselves more and more addicted to this sensual season, it’s only natural to wonder about the vibes off-camera. After all, we’re literally just girls watching attractive people bring smut to life. We gotta know… is there a real-life Luke and Nicola relationship inspiring those sexy scenes? Who has the talented actress dated or had dalliances with in the past? I simply had to do a deep dive: Here’s Nicola’s full dating history and current relationship status.
Back in 2021, The Mirror reported that Nicola and actor Laurie Kynaston were dating. Nicola and Laurie worked together on my other favorite show, Derry Girls. Supposedly, they split because of their busy acting schedules, blah blah blah. The actress has not publicly commented on that rumored relationship.

Yeah, obviously we’ve been wondering if there’s something going on between Luke and Nicola because that on-screen chemistry comes a little too naturally. At the New York City Bridgerton season 3 premiere, Nicola shut down the romance rumors, which was rude of her. “We think it’s really sweet,” she told Extra. “I think because we truly love each other… It’s so nice having such a lovely friend that I can do all this with.” A friend, sure.
She also got real about her intimate scenes with Luke this season. “It’s crazy because I felt like those scenes would be terrifying to watch back, and they were initially… But then when I watched them, I went, ‘No, they’re everything we wanted them to be and more,'” Nicola reflected. She called them “really romantic” and “sexy.” What I’m hearing is: she ships herself with Luke too.
It does appear that way… Nicola’s kinda booked and busy at the moment if you haven’t noticed. BUT. She could definitely be dating Luke in secret or they very well might date in the future. Just my two cents.
