Is it common knowledge that Justin Bieber and Drake Bell have beef? I wasn’t aware of this particular rift, and I’m fascinated. On March 24, Drake was a guest on Josh Peck’s Good Times podcast and the former Drake & Josh costars covered a lot of ground, including the Quiet on Set documentary, their complicated friendship over the years, and oh yeah… Drake and Justin’s Twitter feud. As a chronically online woman, I’m disappointed in myself for totally missing this drama when it happened. Fortunately, Drake explained WTF happened there and where he and the “Yummy” singer stand today: Here’s a breakdown of the Drake Bell and Justin Bieber Twitter feud.
The Justin/Drake beef all started with a silly, seemingly harmless retweet. “Someone had tweeted a picture of [Justin] AI’ed with makeup on and it looked really real,” Drake explained. Needless to say, the Beliebers did not approve of this RT. The former Nickelodeon star remembered, “All of a sudden it was like ‘kill yourself, die. Everything you’ve ever made is trash. Drake & Josh is trash.’” Just a tad harsh.

Despite the Beliebers coming for him so aggressively, Drake has no issue with Justin. He just shared a very unserious tweet. He called the “Sorry” singer “a really great artist” and pointed out that he never expected Justin to see the tweet. “In my mind, Justin Bieber is, you know, he’s on an island with Selena Gomez buying gold,” Drake said on the pod. I fear this man’s about seven years behind. The actor added, “I see him as untouchable — the hell would he see a tweet from me?”
But Justin definitely did see the retweet. Drake found that out when he ran into none other than S*ooter B*aun at the West Hollywood night club, Bootsy Bellows. The Amanda Show alum said he approached Justin’s former manager, and Scooter asked him: “Is that really you on Twitter? Is that like somebody else?” When Drake replied, “You see that?”, Scooter confirmed, “‘Yeah, Justin does too, man. He’s bummed. Drake & Josh was like his favorite show growing up.’” Diva behavior, I’m sorry. It’s literally a dumb edit.
“Sometimes I don’t connect the fact that this guy that’s tweeting from his bed at 6 in the morning has ears around the world,” Drake laughed. He revealed that years later, he and Justin actually met at a hotel. Drake called it an “interesting encounter” and noted, “The bummer is we probably would get along.”
