Vanderpump Rules stars James Kennedy and Ally Lewber have officially split after three years of dating. Ally confirmed the news in a January 22 Instagram Story, a little over a month after James was arrested for domestic violence. At the time, TMZ reported that James grabbed an unnamed woman, but she was not injured. (Fans thought the woman was likely Ally since the former couple had attended Kathy Hilton’s DIRECTV holiday party together earlier that night.) The DJ’s bail was set at $20,000, and he was released on December 12 after posting it.
Now, Ally is confirming that she was the woman involved in the incident, and she’s clarifying what actually happened that night. Here’s why James Kennedy and Ally Lewber broke up and what Ally said about the “domestic violence” incident.
James Kennedy And Ally Lewber: Domestic Violence Incident And Breakup Explained
In her IG Story statement, Ally shared that she and James are no longer together, and she explained that she and James had an “argument” outside of his home. “Thank you for all your support and kindness,” the Vanderpump Rules star wrote. “I am happy that prosecutors decided not to file against James as I never desired criminal charges. We had an argument outside of his home related to him drinking again, however, I was not physically hurt.” The astrologer noted that she was “shocked by the headlines and disheartened by how the event was portrayed.”
Ally concluded, “We are no longer together, but I’ll always support James and wish him the best with his sobriety and healing. Thank you for your understanding.” Before their breakup, James and Ally had discussed getting married and having kids.
In a January 22 press release, James’ lawyer announced that the Burbank City Attorney’s Office did not file charges following James’ arrest. “Their diligent investigation confirmed what we have maintained from the beginning,” it stated. “There were no grounds for any charges to be filed against Mr. Kennedy.” The lawyer stressed that James will “focus on his sobriety and his DJ career” for now.
The aftermath of this incident and Ally and James’ breakup will not be explored in the upcoming season of Vanderpump Rules, as there’s an all-new cast for the 12th season. (Still processing that wild info.) Bravo hasn’t announced the names of the new cast members yet, but production is slated to begin this year.
Sending Ally so much love right now ❤️.
