In partnership with Crocs.
It’s impossible to keep up with the long list of fashion “aesthetics” this year. Just as soon as you buy a faux fur coat for a Mob Wife Aesthetic ‘fit’, everyone decides it’s Cottagecore Summer. Then a movie like Challengers comes out, and suddenly everyone is dressed like they’re spending the summer at the country club, having an affair with their tennis instructor. (Because it’s also the Summer of Smut.)
To avoid overconsumption, I’ve accepted that I’ll be buying and selling my clothes at thrift stores to keep up, but I draw the line at new shoes. I won’t be running to the store every time a teen on TikTok tells me, “Mariska Hargitay core is, like, totally in right now.”
Luckily, one pair of Crocs can match every micro-trend thrown your way because, unlike other shoes, they can be customized with Jibbitz charms. To prove my point, I’ve put together a bunch of ~lewks~ below to keep up with this year’s trends, and they’re all tied together with the same pair of Crocs.
Coastal Grandma
If you’ve ever wanted to emulate Diane Keaton in literally any movie she’s ever been in, this style is for you. Crocs are already the perfect beach shoe, but adding the On Holiday At The Sea Jibbitz pack changes the whole vibe from beachy to Betchy.
Cottagecore
This trend is definitely for the people who know how to make sourdough bread from scratch. I see you and I respect you – even though I could never be you. You can make your Crocs feel more dainty with a bow, and you’re in luck because from pearls to denim to lace, there’s plenty of Jibbitz bows to choose from.
Tenniscore
This one is dedicated to everyone who made Challengers their entire personality. I know I’m not alone in saying that we’re all very grateful for a trending style that’s both comfortable and gives the illusion of athleticism. Cultural moments like these are why sport-mode on Crocs exists. And there’s even a whole Jibbitz section dedicated to sports so you can always switch it up if Zendaya decides to make volleyball popular next year.
Cowboycore
If the Miley and Beyoncé collaboration was the highlight of your year, you might want to lean into cowboycore. Clearly the Out West Jibbitz pack pairs perfectly with a big belt buckle or bolo tie. But you can also stock up on Butterfly Cowgirl Boots, a Gold Studded Horseshoe, or a Cow Print Heart. Because let’s be honest, we need to be prepared for when Beyoncé (hopefully) announces her Cowboy Carter tour.
Mermaidcore
This trend was likely brought on by the resurgence of The Little Mermaid last year, but for anyone who has ever played mermaids in the pool or spent a slumber party watching Aquamarine, Mermaidcore is the gift that keeps on giving. You can add a cute little mermaid tail to your Crocs so everyone knows you mean business or, better yet, repurpose your Coastal Grandma Jibbitz – the possibilities are endless!
