When a body is found on the boardwalk of a fictional coastal town, secrets, lies, and everything in between come out between four longtime friends. The TV show version, made by A+E Studios, is now in development. The always iconic Sarah Michelle Gellar is starring in the adaptation, and my guess is she’s playing one of the two BFFs/enemies that all the town drama revolves around, Jen and Lauren.
Very Bad Company
Giving a little bit Succession, and a little bit Silicon Valley, this book follows company newbie Caitlin Levy on her first company retreat for tech startup Aurora. Except, right when Caitlin is finding her sea legs, one of her colleagues goes missing, and the trip switches from company bonding to corporate espionage and cover-ups that go much deeper than Caitlin could’ve guessed after signing her start paperwork. If you’re secretly plotting your annoying co-worker or micro-managing boss’ downfall, this could be your perfect literary escape.
Crime of Fashion
If you consider yourself to be a bit of an amateur Agatha Christie/Jessica Fletcher/Benoit Blanc, solving the mystery of who stole a priceless Bulgari diamond on a closed fashion photo shoot is going to tickle your investigative fancy.
