I think it’s officially safe to say Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo’s breakup has gotten more attention than their entire relationship. During Craig’s February 6 appearance on Watch Watch Happens Live with Andy Cohen, the secret drinking word of the night was “Paige,” so I absolutely knew some shit was about to be talked. Spoiler alert: Craig shares a lot, but the harshest thing he says about Paige in the interview is that she’s not a dog person. Woof!

Buckle up because the tea is…respectful? Craig said that he’s doing well “to [Paige’s] credit” because “he’s a better version of himself than when they first started to date.” With his new healthier mindset (AKA not “drinking a ton” and acting like a man-child with his Southern Charm bros) Craig understands that “when someone breaks up with you, you got to keep living your life.” Wow, this is deffo not the man who wouldn’t let Naomi breathe for like year post-relationship.

Craig also confirmed that, yes, Paige was the one who broke up with him after Andy asked the question point blank. Oof, that sure seemed to be the case, but that doesn’t make it any nicer to hear.

As for whether Austen was right about Paige having a new boyfriend (and Craig being aware of it) Craig clarified “It’s fair for me to say it’s none of [his] business Paige does anymore.” He continued by pointing out he “hasn’t said a word” to help flame or squash “any of the rumors.” In the same WWHL ep where Austen ran his mouth, Ms. Patricia said Paige was always “mean” to Craig. Craig defended Paige and his relationship, saying they were “cute” and “awesome” together despite Paige playing up her anti-man shtick “on TV.”

Craig summarized that the grief stems from his “favorite person in the universe [becoming] a lesson” instead of a soulmate. Damn, that’s real poetic, Craig.

When Andy asked Craig to confirm Paige had cheated “physically or emotionally” (as she proclaimed on The Giggly Squad) Craig refused to answer!?! Instead, Craig said he’s “the ex-boyfriend now moving on with his life” who is “not going to get sucked into the mud with her cast.” This comment was in response to heat from Ciara and Amanda, who said Craig “sent the dogs” on Paige by staying silent because “he likes sympathy.” (Lol, pause… are the Bravo fans commenting on social media these big bad dogs Amanda speaks of?? Oh dear.)

Since Craig “never said she cheated” (and he later noted that Austen didn’t imply cheating either) he’s not going to “get on Reddit” and defend Paige about it, especially because Paige said the breakup was mutual and that “neither” party was blindsided when Craig firmly believes that wasn’t the case.

No, according to Craig, he was always faithful before, during, and even after the breakup. Craig said Paige “upset a lot of [their] mutual friends” by suggesting Craig was acting like a “single person” during his NYE trip to Aspen. Craig says he was actually not chatting up girls because “the only thing [he] did in Aspen…was talk about [his] breakup because [he] couldn’t believe it was happening.”

Paige called Craig after Thanksgiving with her family to say “I think we need to break up,” while he was touring in Toronto, according to Craig. But their conversation wasn’t final, it was an ongoing discussion, so Craig “had no reason to think she was serious” and assumed she was “having a breakdown.”

Craig teased that there were “things we’ll find out” as to why he wasn’t aware the Thanksgiving convo was a final breakup, elaborating that Andy “knows a lot of a stuff that we’re not going to talk about tonight.” Fast forward three minutes and Craig did end up talking about it that night (lol), sharing that he didn’t think Paige was serious about the breakup because “two weeks prior” they discussed their future wedding, a trip to Europe for New Year’s Eve (which Craig booked and “lost money on”), plans for Craig to move to New York (which Andy Cohen apparently knew about), and had reaffirmed a weekly promise to “never break up.”

Craig’s December 2024 WWHL appearance (where he denied the rumors that had been brewing since summer) was one week after the phone call, and in that week Paige had told Craig she missed him. It wasn’t until they met up in person that night that she made it clear she was v serious about calling it quits.

So, from Craig’s POV, he wasn’t lying his ass off over the Southern Charm press tour at the end of 2024 when he insisted the breakup rumors weren’t true. This is the opposite of Paige’s perspective, where she says she only pretended they were still together while doing press to “respect Craig’s wishes” (an ask Craig says never happened).

They did not break up because of being long-distance or “wanting different things,” at least from where Craig is sitting. He told Andy Cohen that Paige “wanted other people and that’s fine” but Craig isn’t going to pretend he was on the same page (sorry, had to do it once) about their relationship ending, because in his mind “love is enough.” Meaning, that if you truly love someone (especially after three years), “you’ll make it work,” and logistics nor timing won’t make that love go away.
