As the devastating Los Angeles wildfires continue to engulf more neighborhoods and homes, at least 10 people have tragically lost their lives, nearly 180,000 folks have been forced to evacuate, and about 10,000 structures have been destroyed. For those who have been affected and are seeking help, here’s a comprehensive list of resources compiled by Mutual Aid LA. And for those who are able to donate, here’s a list of organizations that are providing relief to victims.
Many celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Mandy Moore, and Milo Ventimiglia, have shared that their homes were burned down. As the situation in Southern California worsens, more and more celebrities are speaking out, sharing helpful resources, calling out government officials, and responding to the extremely problematic online discourse about rich people deserving the fires.
Here are the celebrities speaking out about the LA wildfires.
Celebrities Speaking Out About The LA Wildfires
Mandy Moore
On January 9, Mandy shared that her garage, music studio, and back house were burned down, but the “main part” of her Altadena home was “miraculously” still standing. A few days later, she shared a GoFundMe on Instagram to support her brother-in-law and sister-in-law who “lost their home and everything they own in the Eaton Fire.”
“With their first baby on the way in a matter of weeks, they need our support now more than ever,” the actress wrote in her caption. She pleaded, “Please consider donating and sharing to help them rebuild.” Mandy swiftly received a wave of backlash from people who assume she’s very rich and could support her own family.
In a response post, Mandy wrote: “And people questioning whether we’re helping out our own family or attributing some arbitrary amount of money Google says someone has is NOT helpful or empathetic. Of course we are.” She added, “Our buddy Matt started this GoFundMe and i’m sharing because people have asked how they can help them. We just lost most of our life in a fire too.”
“Kindly F OFF,” she advised the haters. “No one is forcing you to do anything.”
John Mayer

In an emotional Instagram post, John reminded everyone that sentimental items like family photos, class rings, and letters are the most valuable things anyone can own, and losing those things is absolutely heartbreaking. “May those who have lost so much find some semblance of hope and support from their family and friends,” the singer wrote. “Stay safe, look out for yourself and for one another, and trust that humanity and all it entails, though sometimes hard to see, is alive and well. This is truly devastating.”
Olivia O’Brien
Olivia called out people “looting” evacuated areas and people who are “saying that LA deserves this because everyone is rich.” She stressed, “No one deserves to lose everything they have and all of their memories. We have a huge insurance crisis and many people did not have fire insurance.” Olivia pointed out that “hardworking” and “NORMAL FUCKING PEOPLE” are also being affected by this crisis. She also advised people to stop comparing the LA fires to Hurricane Helene.
Khloé Kardashian
Khloé shared a prayer she wrote for those affected by the fires. “Heavenly Father, We come before You in urgent need of Your protection and peace,” she wrote. “We ask that You watch over all the lives affected by the fires in California. Please bring comfort to those who are in harm’s way, and grant them safety and strength as they navigate these difficult circumstances.” The reality star prayed for firefighters, first responders, and families that have been displaced.
In another Instagram Story slide, she shared a tweet criticizing LA’s mayor, Karen Bass, for cutting the fire department’s budget. Khloé also posted a news clip about an arsonist allegedly starting the Kenneth fire and wrote, “You sick mother fuckers! What the fuck is wrong with people?!?! Arson!!!! May you be fully prosecuted!!! What scum!!!”
Blake Lively
On January 9, Blake returned to social media for the first time since she filed her legal complaint against Justin Baldoni in December. She shared mutual aid resources and wrote, “To everyone affected by the Los Angeles fires…”
Demi Lovato
Demi shared a variety of helpful resources on Instagram and reflected on the crisis in her caption. “It has been such a heartbreaking past few days here,” they wrote. “Thank you to all who have checked in – I am fortunate that I am currently safe at home with my family and dogs, but my heart and prayers are with everyone who has been displaced and has lost so much in these fires.” Demi thanked firefighters as well as restaurants and organizations providing food and essential goods.
Lily Collins
The Emily in Paris star shared information and resources on her Instagram Stories. She wrote, “My heart is breaking for LA and every single person, home, and community devastated by these fires. Grateful to be safe in London, but feeling helpless watching our community, friends, and family endure this tragedy, losing and leaving their homes.” She added, “For everyone affected, strangers to loved ones, my heart and thoughts are with you.”
