Somehow, the latest development in the It Ends With Us saga is Blake Lively’s (alleged) novel-length texts about Taylor Swift and Ryan Reynolds being her “dragons.” Yuppp… Those texts can be found in Justin Baldoni’s 179-page lawsuit against Blake and Ryan, which was filed in the Southern District of New York on January 16. The It Ends With Us director and star is accusing Blake and Ryan of taking over the film and attempting to “destroy” his reputation with false sexual assault allegations. (Back in December 2024, Blake accused him of sexual assault, creating a hostile work environment, and participating in a smear campaign against her.) Justin is seeking $400 million in damages.
In the lawsuit, Blake’s texts are included to help prove Justin’s claim that Blake used her “influential and wealthy celebrity” pals to pressure him into using her version of the script. The exchange is about the rooftop scene in the movie, which Blake allegedly reworked.
Here are Blake Lively’s texts in Justin Baldoni’s lawsuit that seemingly reference Taylor Swift and Ryan Reynolds.
Blake Lively Texts In Justin Baldoni Lawsuit: Taylor Swift, Game of Thrones References
Following their meeting about the rooftop scene, Justin allegedly texted Blake: “I really love what you did. It really does hep a lot. Makes it so much more fun and interesting.” Per the screenshots, he pointedly added, ” (And I would have felt that way without Ryan and Taylor).” *Although he doesn’t say Taylor Swift specifically, we all know Blake and the pop icon are besties.* He also called Blake “a talent across the board” and said he’s “really excited nd grateful to do this together.”
In her initial text back, Blake allegedly responded that Justin’s message was “very appreciated.” According to the suit, she wrote, “I have no motives except for you to win. As a director. As an actor. As a studio. As a writer. If you win, I win.” But in a later text, she appeared to defend Ryan and Taylor’s presence at this meeting. Per the screenshots, Blake called Ryan and a redacted name “absolute titans as writers and storytellers outside of their primary gig.”
She allegedly continued, “They also know I’m not always as good at making sure I’m seen and utilized for fear of threatening egos, or fear of affecting the ease of the process. They don’t give a shit about that. And because of that, everyone listens to them with immense respect and enthusiasm. So I guess I have to stop worrying about people liking me.”
Then, per the screenshots, she compared herself to the Game of Thrones character, Khaleesi, and Ryan and redacted name (who I personally think is Taylor) to “dragons.”
“If you ever get around to watching Game of Thrones, you’ll appreciate that I’m Khaleesi, and like her, I happen to have a few dragons,” Blake allegedly wrote. “For better or worse, but usually for better. Because my dragons also protect those I fight for. So really we all benefit from those gorgeous monsters of mine. You will too, I can promise you.” She also allegedly compared Ryan and the person who’s probably Taylor to “Dance Moms Level stage moms.”
I just… Do millennials actually text like this or is this a unique case??
