It simply cannot be music’s biggest night without Beyoncé Gizelle Knowles Carter’s name being center stage, at least if you ask me. And if you prefer to ask the history books, they’ll agree, since Beyoncé is the most Grammy-awarded artist of all time, taking home a record 32 wins over her career. And yet, in a shocking and probably illegal (I kid) oversight, Bey has never won Album Of The Year.
How is this possible? Well, every time she was up for the top honor, The Academy flopped. She lost for I Am… Sasha Fierce to Taylor Swift’s Fearless in 2010. Luckily, Kanye was not present to add his commentary about the obvious musical injustice. Then, in 2015, Beck’s Morning Phase bested Beyoncé’s self-titled album, even though her album’s release changed the course of music history forever, no big deal.
The next year was the Beyoncé Grammys snub heard ’round the world: her literal masterpiece Lemonade lost to 25. Don’t get me wrong… Adele is one of the most talented artists of our time, and that album is a beautiful batch of unforgettable ballads. But even Adele agreed what Lemonade accomplished inside and outside of the studio should’ve earned her the biggest honor of the night that year. Finally, and possibly most ridiculously, Harry Styles Harry’s House beat out Renaissance (one of the highest-selling albums and tours of all time). Sigh.
Will 2025 break the absurd AOTY losing streak? Will Cowboy Carter finally get the recognition it deserves as a country work of art? I sure hope so, but at the rate this cursed year is going, I’m not holding my breath. Did Beyoncé win Album Of The Year for Cowboy Carter? Let’s unpack Beyoncé’s 2025 Grammys wins and snubs.

Did Beyoncé win Album Of The Year?
Yes, Beyoncé won AOTY in 2025 for Cowboy Carter, OMFG!!! She dedicated the award to Linda Martell and accepted on stage with Blue Ivy Carter while Jay-Z cheered her on from the audience. AT LONG LAST, her Grammys curse has been broken. It should’ve happened several years ago, but hey, better late than never.
What awards did Beyoncé win at the 2025 Grammys?
So far, Beyoncé has won Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “II MOST WANTED” with Miley Cyrus. As a top 1% listener of the banger on Spotify, I couldn’t agree more.
Bey also snagged Best Country Album for Cowboy Carter. Jay-Z’s ride-or-die bested Post Malone, Kacey Musgraves, Chris Stapleton, and Lainey Wilson.
In the final award of the evening, Cowboy Carter took home Album Of The Year.

Cowboy Carter actually won thee biggest country award, Best Country Album, of the night! FINALLY, the respect this woman deserves for celebrating and redefining the genre she’s always referenced as an artist throughout her historic career. Even though it shouldn’t be surprising considering the wild critical acclaim of Cowboy Carter, Bey’s huge surprised face when she heard her name says it all. She couldn’t have worn a better dress for the occasion, with the handkerchief details on the golden gown.
