Team Conrad is so up after season 3 episode 8!! In the “Last Kiss” episode, the painful Belly and Jeremiah saga FINALLY came to an end after what felt like 30 years. I swear to god, a giant weight’s been lifted… I’m free at last. I’m a new woman. I feel the urge to skip and sing.

The night before the cursed wedding (that never happened), Belly tells Jere about Conrad confessing his love, and Jere loses his shit and goes MIA. When Conrad gives him a letter from their late mother, Susannah, it only makes matters worse for Jere. Why? Uh, because the letter is intended for Conrad, not him, and it very clearly references Belly. This letter plays a significant role in Jere and Belly calling off their wedding. And yet, no one ever reads it out loud, and we only get to see it for like two seconds! So, what, pray tell, did the full letter say? And why TF was Jeremiah given a letter that was intended for Conrad? Let’s take a look at Susannah’s complete letter to Conrad and how on earth it ended up in the hands of his brother.

What Does Susannah’s Letter To Conrad Say?

Susannah’s full letter:

Dear Conrad,

I can hardly believe my little bug is getting married today! I am just bursting at the thought that my beautiful boy has found the person he wants to spend the rest of his life with.

I only ever got to see you in love once, and for that I will always, always be grateful. Not just that I got to see you in love but I got to see you be loved. Oh, the way she looked at you—it was like you were the only boy in the world. As a mother, there is no greater gift to see her child be so dearly loved by another person. Today, if there is even a fraction of the love I saw then, I am more than happy, I am overjoyed.

Don’t be afraid to tell her every day how very much she means to you. Cook for her, be a good listener, don’t try to win every argument. Jewelry is always welcome. Pay attention to if she wears gold or silver. If she is not a jewelry girl, then chocolate.

Loving you always and forever,

Mom

*While Susannah doesn’t say Belly’s name in the letter, she does reference Conrad and Belly’s relationship. She gushes about how Belly looked at Conrad and loved him… not exactly the words of validation Jere’s hoping for a few minutes before he’s supposed to marry Belly.

Why Does Jeremiah Get The Letter Meant For Conrad?

Season 2 was forever ago, so IDK how we were supposed to remember this, but… When Susannah was writing letters in bed for Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah, Laurel accidentally knocked over her tray, and the letters got mixed up. (So no, Laurel didn’t have an evil plan to sabotage Jere and Belly’s wedding with this Conrad letter, LOL. It was an honest mistake.) Although Jere getting that letter was technically an accident, I’m calling it fate. He was never meant to marry Belly, and the letter helped him realize that.

Does this mean Belly ends up with Conrad after all?? There are three more episodes to go this season, so we’ll have to wait and see.
