These Small Habits Might Be The Reason You're Tired

“Why am I so tired all the damn time?” is a question I asked myself all the damn time. It doesn’t matter how many naps I take or how many cups of black coffee I drink. I’m. Always. Shot. If you’re reading this and thought “WTF SAME” then keep reading because I’m about to uncover some small (major) lifestyle habits that make you tired and could be the reason you never have any energy.

1. Not Drinking Enough Water

Drinking water is so important for so many reasons. Dehydration can leave us feeling weak, foggy, drained, exhausted, and dead. Force yourself to drink at least 64 ounces of water each day and you will notice a major health improvement.

2. Drinking Too Much Alcohol

An occasional drink won’t tire you out, but cracking open a spiked seltzer or pouring a glass of wine after work five days per week sure AF will. Try cutting out alcohol from your diet (or at least cutting back on the amount you drink) and see how much more energetic you’ll become. I bet you a shot of tequila you’ll feel a hell of a lot better.

3. Not Getting Enough Nutrients In Your Diet

Our parents aren’t evil and didn’t force us to finish our veggies before eating dessert for nothing. A well-balanced diet is key to feeling good and having enough energy every day. If your diet mainly consists of fast food or crappy snacks, take a multivitamin every morning or increase the amount of greens you eat.

4. Not Getting Enough Sleep

Duh. But seriously. Not getting enough sleep is one of those habits that make you tired, however obvious that sounds. Start going to bed earlier or sleeping later on the weekends, especially if you wake up at 4am every morning for work. Easier said than done when you have a million things to do all day every day, but aim to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night to wake up feeling refreshed and ready to go.

5. Sitting Too Much

Most of us work in an office 40 hours per week every week. It’s tough to hit 10,000 steps during the day unless we crank out a bunch of errands or hit the gym after our shift. I get it. But being active will get your blood pumping and give you an endorphin rush which will boost your energy and make you less likely to shoot your husband. Whatever you have to do, stop sitting so often and GET MOVING!

Stop being a zombie. Make a new habit of cutting out these old habits that make you tired, that you don’t even realize are negatively impacting your health and stealing away your energy. It’s easier said than done, but once you do it, you’ll transform into a magical butterfly (or semi-normal functioning part of society) ASAP.
