In the year of our lord 2025, the Jonas Brothers invited none other than Demetria Devonne Lovato on stage to perform Camp Rock songs, and some of us will simply never recover. When the Camp Rock 2 soundtrack shows up in my Spotify Wrapped this year and my next birthday party theme is Eras of Demi Lovato… just mind your business. Demi came out as a surprise guest at the JoBros August 10 MetLife Stadium concert to sing “This Is Me” and one of the best duets ever written, “Wouldn’t Change a Thing.” (Joe was fighting for his life trying to keep up with her vocals, just like old times.) The truly iconic moment came after years of apparent distance between Demi and the band — she unfollowed Nick and Joe Jonas in 2018 and hadn’t been seen spending time with them since 2017. Although Demi and the brothers never spoke about a falling out, fans obviously have their theories about what went down…
In a new interview, Demi opened up about her experience reuniting with the Jonas Brothers on stage after all these years. Here’s what she said about the magical reunion, plus a breakdown of what happened between her and the JoBros.

During an August 12 appearance on Barstool’s Chicks in the Office podcast, Demi revealed how they ended up performing Camp Rock songs with the JoBros at their recent MetLife Stadium show. “Honestly, Joe just asked me, like last week,” they dished. “He was like, ‘Hey, what are you doing next weekend? We would love to have you come and perform ‘This Is Me’ and ‘Wouldn’t Change a Thing.’ You’ve been a huge part of our journey and this show is really important to us and we would love to have you there.'”
The “Fast” singer said she enjoyed spending time with the Jonas brothers before the show. “It was so nice and like I said, so healing for me too,” she said, noting that they’ve “been through so much” together over the years. “It was really, really great to spend time with them,” Demi reflected. “It was really cool. They came to my room, all three of them, and spent time getting to know my husband, which was really meaningful to me.” The JoBros thanked her profusely for flying across the country to perform the beloved Camp Rock tunes.
“It was just so thoughtful,” Demi said about the invite and convos with them. “I felt so appreciated and it was really healing for us. I loved it. Every second of it was so great.” BRB, need to go sob.
What Happened Between Demi Lovato And The Jonas Brothers?
Although Demi and the JoBros were besties during their Disney Channel days, they’ve definitely grown apart in the years since. That’s why this reunion was particularly surprising and special.
Demi and Joe dated briefly in 2010 — while she was struggling with an eating disorder and substance abuse. In a May 2010 statement to Us Weekly, Joe revealed that they’d broken up. “Demi and I knew going into our romantic relationship that it may not be an easy one,” he said at the time. “I realize over the time we have shared together that I feel I care more about our friendship right now. It was my choice to break up, but I love her as a friend.”
In 2013, Joe offered more insight into the breakup during an interview with Vulture, sharing, “I really got to know her and got to see the ins and outs of what she was struggling with. I felt like I needed to take care of her, but at the same time, I was living a lie because I wasn’t happy but felt like I had to stay in it for her because she needed help. I couldn’t express any of that, of course, because I had a brand to protect.”
In the mid-2010s, Demi and Nick started spending a lot of time together, and they co-headlined the Future Now tour. There were rumors in 2017 that they were ~ more than just friends~. (The speculation was mostly fueled by Demi’s track, “Ruin the Friendship,” which fans think is about Nick.)
Following her 2018 near-fatal overdose, Demi unfollowed Nick and Joe and wasn’t seen with them for years. She did not attend Nick and Priyanka Chopra’s December 2018 wedding.
I’m just relieved they’re all “healing” now, and I will be watching the reunion videos on repeat all week and probably all year!
