The 'RHONY' Casting Shakeup I've Been Praying For Is Here

Everyone take a deep breath, because The Real Housewives of New York City isn’t actually cancelled. I know some of you OG purists were actually hoping for the demise of one of the greatest American institutions, but Daddy Andy confirmed RHONY ain’t dead yet! To be fair, it’s been a tumultuous era of Big Apple TV, between the unwatchable final seasons of old RHONY (yes, I still blame Leah) that were so bad they couldn’t film a reunion to the desperate antics of new RHONY in an attempt to fill Countess Luann & co.’s admittedly large shoes.

Though we’ve strayed so far from Ramona scolding Bethenny on the Brooklyn Bridge, and Cool Carole dodging Aviva’s amputated leg, I still have a deep-seated belief that Bravo can get this train back on the tracks. Which is why I’m obsessed with every drop of casting news the Bravoverse detectives are dangling online. Everything to know about the new RHONY cast to get you excited — because third time’s the charm!!

RHONY Cast Update

Real Housewives of New York Cast Announcement

So far, Andy Cohen has confirmed on Radio Andy that “the Bravo execs met with 10 potential new Housewives of New York,” in light of the RHONY is over party. This doesn’t mean that we’ll be seeing 10 news faces, but that several new ladies are being interviewed for several new job slots. I love it! “This is called the casting process between seasons, and it’s heavily underway, and that’s why nothing has been announced,” Andy continued. Sounds like Andy is pretty exhausted with the fans insisting New York is dunzo, so stop trying to make fetch happen, y’all! Or, IDK, maybe keep it up if this is what it takes to get the Bravo overlords on their toes with casting.

RHONY Casting Rumors

Who is fired from RHONY?

Rebecca Minkoff

Rebecca announced in February 2025 that she would not be coming back to The Real Housewives. I, for one, am 0% surprised since Rebecca had about two minutes of stage time at the reunion, was the pregnancy prank co-conspirator, and was constantly called boring by her fellow castmates. Rebecca wrote that she chose to leave (ahead of official casting decisions that may not have gone in her favor) because she wanted to “reprioritize” due to “current events in the world” reminding her of “the importance of family, friends and community now more than ever.” RHONY has been airing throughout decades of current events, including when Rebecca willingly signed on, like, a year ago, but okay girl, you do you!

Other cast departures from the season 15 cast have not been announced, but fans are making educated guesses (and wild speculation, too) about who got the chop in the interim. A blind item submitted to the popular Bravo fan account BravoandCocktails suggests that “most likely 3 are not coming back,” and that Brynn Whitfield and Ubah Hassan could be the other two cast members exiting in addition to Rebecca.

This unconfirmed source alleges this because it “seems like” Erin and Jessel are “definitely safe,” while Sai and Racquel are a safe bet for season 16. Erin’s recent pregnancy and Racquel representing Bravo at the GLAAD Awards are a part of the anecdotal evidence fans are speculating about in the Twitter replies. The BravoandCocktails blind also alleges that “if [Jenna Lyons] doesn’t return, it’s her own decision.” As long as Jenna comes back with a better memory of her gossip sessions and maybe a little more than a bathrobe slay, sure, why not?

Who is coming back to RHONY?

Jessel Taank

Jessel’s Instagram Story declaring herself “just fine sweetie” is making some fans believe she’s had presumed alleged conversations with the network that made her feel her job could potentially be secure, after all.

Is Julia Fox joining RHONY?

Julia Fox recently said on a TikTok Live that “[Bravo] fully wanted me to be on RHONY. Like I did an interview for it and everything.” But after thinking about it, Julia “had a moment” where she said to herself: “Honestly, I don’t even think that I can save this franchise.” Even though Julia believes “the women are amazing individually,” she just doesn’t “see them working together.” Yep, think everyone is on the same page about that one!

Julia even decided to put on her producer hat when she heard directly from Sonja with a sexy J that Sonja was willing to return to the show. “Maybe I should hit up the producers,” Julia muses. I, personally, think the train has to chug forward if RHONY is ever going to mature into another God tier group, just like old times!
