It’s the first Monday in May, and you know what that means: Time to check out Kylie Jenner’s annual Met Gala look. She’s become a mainstay of the biggest fashion event of the year, and so of course all eyes are on her at the 2025 Met Gala. And not just to see what look she turns out. Fans have been hopeful that this would finally be the night we’d see Kylie give her relationship with Timothée Chalamet the proper red carpet treatment. But alas, Timmy didn’t show. Nevertheless, we persist, and Kylie arrived in a decidedly mid look. At least it fit the dress code “Tailored For You.”
Kylie attended her first Met Gala back in 2016 alongside momager Kris and big sis Kim Kardahsian. She’s returned for every gala since then — except the pandemic-postponed one that was held in September 2021; she was busy at the time being pregnant with baby Aire.
Now, just because Kylie’s become a Met Gala regular over the last decade doesn’t mean she always knows how to stick to theme… at all. Like, her 2019 purple Versace look is burned in my brain. Did it fit that year’s theme of “Camp”? Questionable. But I’ll never forget it.
But let’s fast forward to this year. I need a moment to discuss Kylie Jenner’s 2025 Met Gala look.
Kylie Jenner At The 2025 Met Gala
Don’t get me wrong, Kylie looks good, and far better than I did sitting in a crewneck sweatshirt watching the blue carpet livestream from my couch. It’s just, I’ve come to expect something a little… more from Kylie. Where’s the baseball-cap-and-wedding-dress Kylie of 2022?
Ferragamo designed Kylie’s 2025 Met Gala look, which was comprised of a fitted, semi-sheer black corset draped in bejeweled fabric. With the dress code of “Tailored For You,” the dress definitely fit in; this look is for sure tailored to Ky to the t.
No matter what, this was an emotional year at the Met Gala for Kylie. Her hairstylist and friend Jesus Guerrero passed away earlier this year, and so she paid tribute to him on Instagram. The morning of the 2025 Met Gala, Kylie posted on her Instagram story a photo of Jesus helping her get ready for the 2024 Met Gala.
“Jesus was more than my friend – he was a light in my life, a source of laughter, comfort, love, and unwavering support,” she wrote on Instagram in February 2025. “I don’t know how I would have made it through the last almost decade without him by my side. He had a way of making even the heaviest days feel lighter.”
