Celebs Who Have Joined The Mile High Club (Yes, That One)

It’s sufficient to say *most* celebrities have joined the “Mile High Club” — and it’s almost guaranteed if they own a private jet. Kim Kardashian and Hailey Bieber corroborated my hot take after acknowledging that they’re both Mile High members. Hailey said she didn’t “even need to ask” if Kim had gotten down in the sky. When Kim pretended to be offended and asked why, Hailey pointed out, “You own a plane.” And we thought it was all business on Kim Air.

Sex on a plane is such a common occurrence in private jets that Barbra Streisand decided she had to join the club, as well. In the late 1990s, Barbra charted a jet to fly over Los Angeles so she and her husband, Josh Brolin, could have sex in it. I aspire to this level of disposable income.

There are plenty of celebrity sexcapades that take place on private planes, but a good amount of stories happen on commercial flights. Getting freaky in the air is a check off of the adventurous sex bucket list, but is sex on a plane worth the hype?

Sex on a plane lasts an average of less than 10 minutes, per a Mile High Club survey of more than 11,000 dating website users (mainly from the US and the UK). While only 5 percent of people have actually done it, 78 percent of people would like to attempt it.

The bathroom is the obvious place where most of these encounters happen, although you have to do some pretty impressive gymnastics to keep your pants from touching the ground when you pee, let alone being in there with another person.

Even Richard Branson, the founder of Virgin Airlines, made the nuts and bolts of the experience sound lackluster.

“The problem with plane loos generally is that they are very small, and the acrobatics can’t take too long because there’s no room and people start banging on the door,” he told GQ about his first Mile High experience with a stranger on a plane when he was 19. What I remember vividly is seeing four handprints on the mirror as we finished and thinking I’d better wipe them off.”

Sex on a plane sounds appealing because it feels naughty, but the real allure comes from it feeling bougie and exclusive. Let’s put it this way: You could take a $60 Spirit flight to Tallahassee for an economic mile-high experience. That kind of takes the sparkle out a bit, doesn’t it?

Miranda Kerr

“I’ve had an orgasm in the air before,” the model told GQ in 2014, per Vogue. “Alone. And together.”

Kim Kardashian

Kim told The Sun that she’s only had sex on private planes and didn’t foresee herself doing the deed on a “public plane.”

“It would have to be an international flight,” she said. “It was an international, night flight when no one’s, like, around.”

Chrissy Teigen

“We were on our way to Thailand to see my parents, flying commercial first-class,” she told Cosmopolitan in 2014 about a sexy flight with husband John Legend. “We were under a blanket. We weren’t even in one of those pod things. I feel like we should get a trophy for that.”

Christina Aguilera

“A plane can be fun, we’ve definitely hidden some things under the blankets when the seats are big enough,” she said about her mile-high experiences with fiancé Matthew Rutler during an appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “I can’t believe we didn’t get caught so many times in so many situations. Thank the Lord.”

She continued, “On international flights, I turn the light off. There’s always room to get creative. I use blanketsI literally remember even having this little pocket-sized one I could pack in my bag on an airplane. I was horny.”

Kris Jenner

“I was with [Caitlyn Jenner] on a commercial airliner in first class. We joined the Mile High Club and felt we got away with it. We had sex in the bathroom, and we came out, and nobody said anything,” Kris told Cosmopolitan in 2015.

However, everyone knew what the momager and her ex-spouse got up to during the flight. After landing, Kris claimed that the flight attendant had gotten on the microphone to congratulate them on joining the Mile High Club and even gifted them a bottle of champagne.

Cara Delevingne

“I’ve had sex in planes a lot. But I’ve always been caught. It’s super-hard not to get caught,” Cara told Love Magazine.

She continued, “I had sex in the chair on the plane, and there was a guy watching. We ended up telling the air stewardess what was happening. Like, ‘This guy keeps staring at us. Can you tell him to stop?’”

John Travolta

John and his late wife, Kelly Preston, “joined the club” when the actor owned a Learjet.

“I shut off the cockpit, let someone else fly,” he said, per Digital Spy.

Richard Branson

The billionaire first had sex on a plane when he was just a teenager, long before he founded his own airline.

“I was sitting in economy on a Freddie Laker flight next to this very attractive lady as we headed to L.A. We got chatting, and it went a bit further. And it was every man’s dream, to be honest. I was about 19, I think,” he said. “I remember getting off the plane, and she turned to me and said, ‘Look, it’s slightly embarrassing, but I am meeting my husband at arrivals, would you mind holding back a bit.’”

Liam Neeson

The actor said in 2014, “I joined the Mile High Club many years ago … I remember it was on a Lufthansa flight.”

Ralph Fiennes

In 2007, a Qantas stewardess named Lisa Robertson claimed she hooked up with the Harry Potter actor in the bathroom during a flight from Darwin to Bombay, leading to her termination.

“We did make love on the plane that night,” she told Daily Mail. “At first, I denied it because I was so desperate to keep my job, and I didn’t want to hurt Ralph. I know some people will think it’s disgusting. And I’m not proud of what I did — it was inappropriate behavior.

She didn’t “regret it” at all, explaining, “Ralph is gorgeous, and the chemistry between us was amazing. What woman wouldn’t want to make love with him?”
