Wait, Why Did Zoë Kravitz And Channing Tatum Break Up?!

I’m unwell: Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz have called off their engagement. The now-exes first bonded on the set of Zoë’s directorial debut, Blink Twice, back in January 2021 and by the following September, they were leaving the Met Gala together hand in hand. It feels like literally five minutes ago that they made their red carpet debut at the Blink Twice premiere (it was August 8), and like 30 seconds ago (it was September 3) that Channing shared a super sweet tribute to Zoë on Insta, claiming, “I got you forever. Me and you back to back against it all.” I’m actually devastated by this information. As Sabrina Carpenter once said, “Don’t smile because it happened baby / Cry because it’s overrrr.” But why did Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz break up? Here’s everything we know about their split so far.

On October 29, multiple sources confirmed to People that Channing and Zoë had gone their separate ways after three years together and one year engaged.  However, the sources did not give insight into why the actors split, and their reps did not respond to People‘s requests for comment. We’ll have to stay tuned for more details. Although Channing and Zoë went to see a play in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn together on October 6, Zoë’s recently been seen out and about with Channing and sans her engagement ring. Hopefully their breakup was somewhat amicable because these two are set to work together again soon — they were both just cast in the alien invasion comedy Alpha Gang, per Deadline.

RIP, Choë… you seemed so in love. In July, Channing told E!: “I don’t really make any creative decisions or very many decisions without getting her point of view now because I respect her point of view and her brain, her tastes and almost everything.” Crying because this is exactly how men need to be taking about their iconic girlfriends. At the time, the actor added, “We need each other now.” What could’ve happened in three months to change this??

Channing continued, “One thing I will say is if you think you’re in love with somebody and you’re thinking about, ‘Do I want to stay with them forever or be with them or have a child with them or get married?’ Go find the hardest possible project that you can physically find. Go build a house, paint a room, do something.” Perhaps they failed some kind of project…

At the August 23 Blink Twice premiere, Zoë told People: “Art is our love language. “I think it’s what we love, and we love talking about it, and experiencing it, and supporting each other.” Welp, I thought Channing and Zoë were very adorable together, and I’m sad to hear it didn’t work out.
