Let me just start by saying that I absolutely *love* Charlotte Tilbury products. That said, I don’t love how quickly my favorites sell out. Sure, that only means that the world thinks they’re as bomb as I do, but what’s a girl to do when she needs to restock her favorite contour wand? Get a similar tube to hold her over, of course.
And, because I’m just like you, I’ve found myself turning over to the same place for my product recommendations now—TikTok. The TikTok girlies are basically giving us one honest review after another (even if it means de-influencing), and when Alix Earle gave Tarte’s Sculpt Tape Contour Wand her approval as a ringer for the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Liquid Contour Wand, I knew it’d sell out just as quick. But, thankfully, I was able to get my hands on it before that happened.
For those who aren’t familiar with how these contour wands work, allow me to give you a quick breakdown. They have a fluffy sponge applicator and a dial that turns to get the pigment out. Once you squeeze about a dime-sized amount of product, you dab it in dots across your face (to contour you want to get your forehead, cheekbones, jawline, and the sides of your nose). From there, you can use a sponge, such as a Beautyblender or a contour brush to blend it out.
My favorite feature about the Charlotte Tilbury wand is how well it blends, and I was pleasantly surprised that Tarte’s had similar, if not the same power. Don’t believe me? See Alix’s side-by-side video comparing the two formulas below.
@alixearle Thoughts ?
Told you so—they’re practically identical. Tarte’s version is available in five different shades: warm bronze, cool bronze, soft bronze, deep bronze, and rich bronze. All are designed to work with a range of skin tones and matching undertones so that everyone can enjoy the sculpting magic. And you can save some money if you get your hands on Tarte’s contour wand as well, since it’s $35 compared to Charlotte Tilbury version at $42. Snag yours directly at Tarte or at Ulta, before the word gets out and it’s gone. Trust us, your vanity and your newly-chiseled cheekbones and jawline will thank you.

Shape Tape Matte Foundation
This foundation is so light but offers full coverage. Plus, it’s mattifying, which we all really need during the summer. This foundation conceals everything from dark circles to acne, doesn’t have any oil, and doesn’t dry out your skin. You really can have it all!
Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara
Okay, so Tarte gives this baby a pretty strong claim—4-in-1. And it does just that. It lengthened, curled, and volumized my lashes AND it’s packed with ingredients that treat yo’ self lashes while you wear it. It doesn’t flake or clump, and it’s one of the only mascaras that doesn’t irritate my eyes. Praise be.
Busy Gal Brow Tinted Brow Gel
Someone on Tumblr said the eyebrows are the windows to the soul. I think. And fortunately—or unfortunately, depending on who you are as a person—the eyebrow trend is showing no sign of stopping. Thankfully, Tarte makes an awesome tinted brow gel that will help you get your eyebrows on fleek (even though “on fleek” died three years ago). The Busy Gal tinted brow gel holds your brows in their proper shape, and it’s tinted so it hides sparse patches. It’s also waterproof and can hold for up to 12 hours so you don’t have to reapply.
H2O Gloss
With lipgloss being back in style, I get terrible flashbacks to those Juicy Tubes we all wore in middle school that were so, so sticky and your hair was constantly getting stuck in it. Like, God help you if it was a windy day because every bit of dust and debris would attach to your lips forever. Thankfully lipglosses are so different now, and this water-based one from Tarte is super moisturizing, smoothing, and not at all sticky or smelly. Plus it comes in 14 colors and the tube is so pretty.
Rainforest Of The Sea Sizzle Eyeshadow Palette
All I want is to look like a beachy sun goddess this summer. Is that too much to ask? Unfortunately, I stay inside all day and look like a vampire, so the best I can hope for is a gorgeous eyeshadow palette that makes me kind of look like a sun goddess. The colors in this palette are so pretty and they look great on any skin tone—even my ghostly one. They’re also really creamy so they don’t crease or dry out your skin.
Shape Tape Setting Powder and Setting Superpower Powder Brush
Setting powder is my favorite thing in the entire world. It sets your makeup and covers oil without packing on additional makeup to your skin. This powder mattifies and diffuses light so you don’t look shiny in your Instagram selfies, yet somehow it is still not drying thanks to the clay-based formula. Also, look at the super cute brush to apply it with. It’s fluffy and applies the perfect amount of powder.
Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush
Blush is a have-to-have item for me (vampire skin, so it makes me look alive again), and this one is so pretty and lasts for up to 12 hours! It goes on soft and smooth without caking on your skin or creasing, and it stays on literally all day so I don’t look like I died halfway through my lunch break. It also comes in 13 colors!
