One podcast, taken in many different directions. I think we all remember the famed boy band One Direction, and beyond that remember how Harry Styles and Zayn Malik went on to become pretty big stars in their own right. But do you remember Liam Payne? Well, you will now. After his recent appearance on Logan Paul’s podcast, Impaulsive, Payne got into some trouble with fans for talking about the band’s dynamics. You could say he did not bring up just “One Thing.”
For starters, Payne chatted about other forgettable member (oops, who said that), Louis Tomlinson. “Louis was wild. And he wanted to be wild. That’s his spirit,” said Payne. “He’s my best mate now but in the band, we hated each other. Like, to come to blowers hated each other. It was close.” Umm yikes. Payne explained that he made it clear to everyone in the band that he doesn’t “take sh*t,” and shared quite the memory of a backstage argument. “One member in particular threw me up a wall,” said Payne. “So I said to him, ‘If you don’t remove those hands there’s a high likelihood you’ll never use them again.’” So much to unpack.
Then things got even messier. Paul and Payne also talked about Malik, who had some alleged drama with Paul’s brother Jake Paul. They brought up the drama on the podcast and talked about Malik’s alleged harassment of Gigi Hadid’s mom Yolanda (Malik was accused of striking her in October 2021). Prior to the allegation, Gigi had tweeted at Jake Paul that Malik is a “respectful king,” which Payne brought up, saying, “That one didn’t age very well.” Oh, but Payne didn’t stop there.
“There’s many reasons why I dislike Zayn and there’s many reasons why I’ll always be on his side,” Payne shared. “Listen, I don’t agree with any of his actions. I can’t commend some of the things that he’s done. I can’t be on his side for that. But what I can say is I understand and your only hope is that at some point in their life, the person at the other end of the phone wants to receive the help that you’re willing to give them. That’s all I will say.”
Payne did, in fact, have more to say. Following the podcast drama—and slew of angry fans—Payne tweeted more about Malik. “Listening back maybe I didn’t articulate myself as well as I could have,” reads his tweet. “I was saying that there will always be things we disagree on but that I will always, always be on his side. That’s family. Zayn is my brother and I will stand by him forever.”
But I’ll let the experts (AKA 1D fans) take the reins here.
“Liam talking sh*t about zayn as if he didnt cheat on his fiancé last week,” one person wrote on Twitter. This is in reference to circulated photos of Payne with model Aliana Mawla, just hours before announcing he was ending his engagement to Maya Henry.
“Zayn choosing to keep certain aspects of his life private and liam airing it out voluntarily to LOGAN PAUL is a prime example of how wicked this man truly is,” tweeted someone else. Someone get 1D on Red Table Talk stat.

I think we can agree that 2020 was the most dramatic season year of all time. But you know who it was especially tough for? Lol no, not your grandma in her nursing home you idiot, I’m talking about celebrity couples. That’s right, they were dropping like flies this year, and I can only assume that’s because once you strip away the ability to jet off to exotic locations or drink tequila with George Clooney at Soho House and realize you’re stuck spending every waking moment on the couch with a fellow narcissist with an eighth grade education, you start to reevaluate your decisions. And reevaluate they did. Some quietly (Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis), and some very, very, messily. And that’s who I want to focus on today because, well, it’s more fun for me. So now that 2020 is mercifully taking its final breaths, let’s look back at the most dramatic celebrity breakups of the year.
Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich
I mean, yes, anyone with eyes and ears living on this planet saw this breakup coming a mile away. But could we have predicted the drama with which it ended? Fine, probably also yes, but boy has it been a beautiful gift in this bucket full of sewage water masquerading as a year. Let’s look at what went wrong here. Back in March, when we were all still naive souls with perfectly maintained gel manicures, Demi and Max got together. She popped up accidentally on his IG live at the end of the month, and that’s when it was officially confirmed they were dating. So I guess that means people watch his IG live then? What a sad world we live in. By July they were engaged, and by the end of September it was over. Shocking! And the rumor was his intentions were not genuine and he was using her for PR. Even more shocking! Now this is where it gets good. Max claimed on his Instagram stories that he heard about their breakup through a tabloid, which tbh sounds right about the level of respect this relationship deserved. Demi dropped a song called “Still Have Me” and he dropped an insane IG live comparing himself to Pete Davidson.
not max ehrich dragging the ariana & pete situation in his mess.. also his acting is so bad pls pic.twitter.com/N3BAHddSRT
— h❀ (@fentgrande) October 2, 2020
Then he called the paparazzi on himself crying on the beach, which for me is just a regular Saturday and not really a photo-worthy event, but sure Max, whatever you need to do for relevance. Rumors were swirling that he wouldn’t leave Demi alone, and then we finally made it to the People’s Choice Awards, hosted by Miss Demi Lovato herself. She mentioned the engagement and breakup in her monologue, and of course Max jumped on that.

It’s like the breakup that never ends. AND THEN, we finally got our punishment for even entertaining this man for one second: his debut single.

As if we haven’t all been through enough.
Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green
I was really rooting for these two. Not that many couples that got together when one was a practically a teenager and one was a grown man really go the distance, but in the 15 years they were together they managed to get married, have three kids, and only cancel one divorce somewhere in the middle. Is that a love story straight from Shakespeare, or what? Sadly, BAG confirmed their split this May, after Megan was spotted hanging out with Machine Gun Kelly. Megan and MGK met on the set of Midnight in the Grass, a movie produced by MY MAN aka RAND aka Randall Emmett, so I guess it will be as good as Gotti. This split started to get superrrrrr messy over their kids. My apologies for using children as a basis for my story, but their parents did it first.
First, Megan posted this shot with MGK.

Sweet, I guess. In, like, an Angelina wears a vial of Billy Bob’s blood kind of way.
So naturally, a 47-year old man would respond to that this way.
Achingly beautiful boys…… My heart is yours pic.twitter.com/eWQwcblhg2
— Brian Austin Green (@withBAGpod) August 5, 2020
I wonder how it feels to be this petty? I imagine exhilarating at first, but then the crushing shame spiral hits. Not speaking from experience, of course.
Then on Halloween, Brian Austin Green posted a photo with their youngest child Journey in the frame and Megan just DRAGGED him in the comments.

I honestly have such secondhand embarrassment from their drama. If Megan was any older I’d assume she meant to send a private text but instead accidentally responded in the comments like my grandpa sometimes does, but considering this message isn’t in all caps and signed by name like a grandfather would do, I suspect it was on purpose. Why anyone would do this is beyond me. Maybe to shame her ex, maybe to make herself look better, maybe to use big words to prove my eighth grade education claims wrong? Whatever the reason, y’all are gross. BAG didn’t respond, but he did repost the picture with the kid cropped out. How mature of both of them.
Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph
We all know this story. Boy goes on reality TV show. Boy falls in love with girl. Boy jumps fence for girl. Girl begrudgingly agrees to be with boy for Instagram sponsorships. It’s beautiful, it’s magical, it ends in a restraining order. Back in May, Cassie and Colton announced their breakup, with Colton saying, “some people are just meant to be friends.” I’d imagine that’s especially true in cases where one person doesn’t really like the other, right Cassie? Things seemed amicable-ish until September, when Cassie filed a restraining order against Colton, accused him of sending unsettling text messages, and placing a tracking device on her car. TBH I think we could have all guessed that a man who would jump a fence for a woman wouldn’t be stopped from placing a tracking device on her car because of a pesky little thing called the law. Consider it jumped. Days before the court date in November, Cassie dismissed the order against Colton. Apparently they came to a private agreement. I bet those texts were even more unsettling.

Yeah, risking arrest.
Vanessa Morgan and Michael Kopech
Any other Riverdale fans out there? Because I’m worried about Toni Topaz. Vanessa Morgan got married to White Sox pitcher and Brielle Biermann’s ex, Michael Kopech, in January of 2020. In April, she posted about his birthday on Instagram. And then in July she announced she was pregnant.
View this post on Instagram
It seemed a little weird that she referred to the child as “my baby boy” instead of “our baby boy” but hey, she’s the one who’s going to have to push a living being out of her vagina, so I guess it’s really her prerogative to refer to him in whatever way she wants. Then, just three days later it was reported that Michael had filed for divorce in June. WHAT?! Her rep confirmed that Michael is the father of her child and that’s literally it. Complete and utter radio silence about the matter. Like, quieter than me during that final court scene in The Undoing quiet. I think this one is so dramatic because I’m dying for answers and they won’t give them to me. Is anyone reading in the confidence of Vanessa Morgan and willing to betray her trust for a curious writer in the tristate area? PLEASE?
Offset and Cardi B
Look, I know these two are back together, but they’re on and off so much that maybe by press time they’ll be broken up again and I’ll be right. I’m taking my chances. In September it was reported that Cardi B and Offset were to divorce after three years of marriage. The rumors were that he was unfaithful, she hit a breaking point, and finally filed for divorce. He had previously been caught cheating three months after they got married, and then in 2018 they welcomed daughter Kulture. Between then and now, A LOT of drama has happened. Bartenders at a strip club claimed that Cardi B ordered an attack on them for allegedly cheating with Offset, Cardi and Offset split in December 2018 with her claiming they grew out of love, Offset begged her to come back on Instagram, and they reunited officially at the 2019 Grammys.
Now, I’m no relationship expert—I share a bed with my dog—BUT I think it’s safe to say maybe these two should break up? Personally, I think once hitmen get involved the government should force you to divorce. But apparently these two can’t stay apart. In October 2020, one month after filing for divorce, Cardi and Offset got back together, with her sharing on Instagram live “It’s really hard to have no dick.” Well, can’t argue with that logic *shrugs*.

The modern love note.
Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers
Armie Hammer, star of the recently released Rebecca, both twins in The Social Network, but mostly just hot rich person, broke up with his wife Elizabeth Chambers after 10 years of marriage. Considering their love story is about as exciting as soggy white bread, you wouldn’t expect their breakup to be that dramatic, right? Well, well, well you’d be wrong, because after wasting his prime sexy years on one lady, Armie is finally free to put his dick in everything he can find. First, he was spotted out with Rumer Willis looking prettyyyyy cozy. Then he was rumored to be dating Josh Lucas’s ex-wife, Jessica Ciencin Henriquez, and some app founder named Courtney. Now the word is that Armie is dating an Instagram model named Paige Lorenze. And according to submissions on DeuxMoi, Armie was not with his kids for Thanksgiving, and Elizabeth was caught liking an Armie hate account. EEK. This is a bad look and I love it. Is there anything more satisfying than nearly 40-year-olds acting like drunk, vengeful teens? I think not.

That’s a divorce look if I ever saw one
And those are this year’s messiest breakups! Although, with a few days left in 2020, it’s anyone’s guess what will happen.

Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore have been divorced since 2013, but the drama of their marriage is once again making headlines. Sh*t hit the fan with the release of Demi’s new book, Inside Out, but the details of the couple’s drama aren’t juicy and fun in a Bachelor/reality-show-mess kind of way, but rather in an invasive-and-left-me-feeling-like-I-eavesdropped-on-something-that-I-shouldn’t-have kind of way. Demi Moore’s memoir, which was released on September 24th, details Moore’s very tumultuous childhood. In her prime (a phrase steeped in ageism and misogyny, but whatever), Moore was the highest paid actress in Hollywood and nicknamed “Gimme Moore” by men who should just go shave their backs.
Basically, all this stuff has been coming out because Demi revealed a lot in her memoir, and in her media appearances promoting the memoir. In an interview with Good Morning America’s Diane Sawyer about why she wrote the memoir, Demi opened up about all the gritty details of her childhood before she got into the drama in her adult life, first during a 10-year marriage with Bruce Willis and then in her marriage with Ashton. She and Ashton met at a dinner party in 2003 and were married by 2005. It was a big deal at the time because she was 15 years his senior, something she mentioned would never be a big deal if it were the other way around—her ex-husband Bruce Willis married a woman 23 years younger than him, and nobody so much as batted an eye. At the time of her marriage to Ashton she was also pregnant, miscarrying six months into the pregnancy. She then spent years trying to conceive through in-vitro fertilization, to no avail.
She eventually talked about how she and Ashton separated in 2011 after he cheated on her. She explained to Diane Sawyer how she was getting ready to walk the red carpet for a new movie and got a Google alert on her phone saying, “Ashton Kutcher caught cheating.” (Imagine finding out your husband cheated on you via a Google alert while you’re getting glammed for a f*cking red carpet…) She immediately called him: “I asked if it was true and he admitted it right away. I think my response was, are you f*cking kidding me?” She explained this is also around the time she broke her sobriety and started taking Vicodin, up to 12 pills a day, her ex-husband-turned-friend (-turned-I-guess-not-friend?) Bruce was no longer speaking to her, and neither were any of her three daughters. Eventually her disordered eating resurfaced, and in 2012 she ended up passing out and having a seizure at a party after smoking synthetic weed and inhaling nitrous oxide, or what I like to refer to as a typical high school Saturday night, which resulted in her journey back to sobriety and to mending the relationships with her daughters.
So basically, Demi Moore’s memoir is pretty explosive, and it’s dredged up sh*t with Ashton Kutcher in particular. It makes sense, since they were together for so long, but Ashton doesn’t come out looking great in the way Demi tells it. Demi explains in the book how she and Ashton started having threesomes because she thought it would help save their marriage and how she “went into contortions to try to fit the mold of the woman he wanted his wife to be.” She writes, “So when he expressed his fantasy of bringing a third person into our bed, I didn’t say no. I wanted to show him how great and fun I could be.” Which like…is understandable. Love makes you do crazy things that you may not otherwise, and I know I can connect with the feeling of going out my comfort zone to try and hang onto someone that I was never meant to hang on to. On the other hand, I’ve read enough r/relationships to know that men (and women too, probably) often will use a threesome as a way to get permission to cheat on their significant others. LOL, bleak, I know, but people are trash.
In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres on Tuesday, Demi said that her ex-husbands were all given copies of the memoir prior to the release, but mentioned in The Wall Street Journal that they hadn’t read it all yet. According to a recent New York Times profile, Demi “felt strongly that she had the right to share stories that involved her famous ex-husbands if these episodes were principally about her, and she was confident that her portrayals of them did not make them into villains or her into a victim.” She went on to say that she hoped nobody was upset with their portrayals in the book and mentioned how everyone remembers things differently, and this is her story. And according to Ashton’s Twitter he’s salty but sort of….fine?
With all the headlines on the “Demi and Ashton drama”, I assumed I was going to be digging through a ton of sh*t and that I’d find all these terrible bombshells of information, but it seems like Ashton is trying to stay away from any sort of messy situation, even if part of him wants to say his piece.
I was about to push the button on a really snarky tweet. Then I saw my son, daughter, and wife and I deleted it. ❤️
— ashton kutcher (@aplusk) September 25, 2019
He followed it up with a tweet saying “‘Life is good.’-Larry Kutcher,” quoting his father, before bizarrely posting:
For truth text me. +1 (319) 519-0576
— ashton kutcher (@aplusk) September 25, 2019
Naturally at first I thought “HOLY SH*T LET’S TEXT ASHTON!” Assuming he had an Aaron Carter style breakdown and was ready to spill all the piping hot tea to the first person who called him, but a quick browse through Twitter shows he first posted the number back in July as a way to communicate directly with him, and to no surprise, it sends back an auto-response to a link.
— Ijeoma (@pajamagirl) September 25, 2019
I know...what a goddamn tease. Regardless, it seems the Ashton and Demi drama, like most, is fleeting. Hopefully Demi’s book does well and she once again resurfaces as the most powerful and highest paid woman in Hollywood, because frankly, she’s been through the f*cking ringer and deserves it.

In news that I definitely thought happened already, TMZ reports Kylie Jenner finally unfollowed Jordyn Woods on Instagram. Kylie is only following 125 people to her 141 million followers, so when she unfollows someone, it’s not exactly hard to notice. Still, this one’s gotta hurt. For Jordyn, I mean.
The news comes two days after Jordyn Woods was spotted at a bar smoking hookah and dancing with James Harden. If that name sounds familiar to you, it should be for two reasons. One, he’s a basketball player, but two—and most importantly—he’s another one of Khloé Kardashian’s exes. Khloé and James dated for a hot second back in 2016, so homegirl clearly has a type. Say what you want about Jordyn, but at least she’s consistent. I have no choice but to respect it.
I guess for Kylie this was the last straw, and she finally unfollowed Jordyn on Instagram. Kind of crazy that she didn’t do it after Jordyn was spotted partying and kissing Tristan Thompson, Khloé’s actual baby daddy, but I guess you have to draw the line somewhere. Still, this seems like a random place to draw said line given that Khloé and James dated three years ago, it was not serious, Jordyn is not dating him now, and she claims she did not plan to meet up with him and just randomly ran into him. Then again, those KUWTK ratings aren’t going to spike themselves!
This unfollow comes about a month after Kylie’s people told Us Weekly that she would “always care about Jordyn and she wants only the best for her” and implied she might forgive her in the future. Welp. I guess the S.S. Forgiveness has officially sailed.
For now, Jordyn is still following Kylie and Kylie Cosmetics on Instagram, so maybe she’s holding out hope for a reconciliation, or maybe she’s just not super petty. She seems to be focusing on her debut fashion line, secndnture, and she was just in an episode of Grown-ish. So she seems to be doing just fine, with our without the Kardashians and their exes.
Celebrity scandals are what I live for. Okay, that is a slight exaggeration. But I love the thrill of knowing a new piece of gossip that lowers the level of perfection my fav celebrities have and makes them seem more human. 2017 was a pretty good year for celebrity scandals, but the celebrity scandals of 2018 did not disappoint. From feuds with the President to cheating scandals, 2018 was a dramatic AF year. Personally, I’m just glad it’s almost over. Then again, I said that about 2017, and 2018 turned out to be a way worse year. Well, whatever. I guess I have no way of knowing. Anyway, in no particular order, here were the biggest celebrity scandals of 2018.
1. Stormy Daniels Vs. Donald Trump
The year started off with a BANG. On January 12, the Wall Street Journal disclosed that Trump’s lawyer paid Stormy $130,000 of hush money a month before the 2016 elections. After this was publicized, it snowballed into a major scandal, as it always does when Trump is involved. In October, Stormy appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and disclosed some juicy gossip. If you want to know what the President’s penis looks like, I highly recommend watching it (if you haven’t already), or you can read this article where we broke it down. Or—and this is what I recommend—you could do neither and live your life in a relative state of bliss, never knowing the details of our president’s penis.
2. Tristan Thompson Cheatin
In April, a day before Khloé Kardashian gave birth to their daughter True, TMZ released videos of Tristan cheating on Koko. There had been rumors in the past of Tristan cheating, but it takes a real a**hole to cheat on his girlfriend WHILE SHE IS IN LABOR. While the couple has stayed rather hush-hush about the major scandal, Kim Kardashian (thank god) couldn’t keep her opinions to herself. She said, “I hate him. Sorry not sorry.” You bet I’m watching this season of KUWTK to see all the drama unfold.
3. Allison Mack Sex Trafficking Scandal
WTF. Former Smallville actress Allison Mack was charged with sex trafficking, sex trafficking conspiracy, and forced labor conspiracy for her involvement with the organization NXIVM. Women were recruited to join the alleged sex cult that was branded as “a female mentorship group that addressed their weaknesses.” Well, that’s one way to put it. She is currently out on a $5 million bond and under house arrest in her parents’ California home. And my parents wouldn’t even let me come home if I got a public urination ticket.
4. The Markle Family Drama
Every family has their fair share of drama when it comes time for a wedding. But Meghan and Harry’s wedding had a unique set of dramatic events. First, Meghan’s half-sister, Samantha Markle, started commenting on multiple “mistakes” she believes Meghan has been making. Rightfully so, Meghan decided the only family members to be invited to her wedding would be her father and mother. But wait, there’s more (obvs). After news broke that Meghan’s father staged photos for the paparazzi to take of him and earned some money, he decided he would not be attending the wedding “because he was getting heart surgery that same day”. I guess becoming a princess really isn’t as glamorous as I thought.
5. Kylie Jenner’s Secret Pregnancy
This list wouldn’t be complete without the most ULTIMATE secret celebrity pregnancy of all time. Although rumors started circulating in September 2017, Kylie’s pregnancy was not *officially* revealed until the birth of her daughter, Stormi, in February through an incredible video. But that didn’t stop fans from coming up with the most absurd theories for her pregnancy, including that she was Kim’s surrogate or her baby daddy was actually her bodyguard. Nonetheless, this was one of the biggest celebrity scandals of the year.
6. Nicki Minaj and Cardi B… Still
The drama between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj has been brewing since early 2017, but the real tea spilled at the Harper’s Bazaar ICONS party on September 7, 2018. A physical fight broke out at New York Fashion Week, where Cardi threw her heel at Nicki, but ended up with a bruise on her own face. Like, LMK how that happens. The feud is never-ending. It even led Cardi to post some nasty words about Nicki on Instagram. The timeline of their fight is too exhausting to even think about so read all the details here.
7. Roseanne, The Racist
Twitter tends to be the source of many large scandals these days, and TBH, I’m not mad about it. But the glory of the internet is that even though something may be deleted, we can always find it. On May 28th, Roseanne took to Twitter to address Valerie Jarett, Barack Obama’s adviser, and wrote “Muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby = vj.” ABC worked fast and canceled her show revival immediately and released a statement explaining that her views do not align with theirs. She then got dropped by her talent agent and Roseanne reruns were no longer showed on Viacom channels. What did Roseanne have to say about this? She blames the tweets on the Ambien she had taken. Which literally nobody believed, and even the creators of Ambien clarified is not a real side effect.

Last summer, Taylor Swift reached peak snake status. Kim Kardashian posted that infamous video recording on Snapchat, and Taylor broke up with Calvin Harris like a week after he was in a car accident. But one of the best parts was when Calvin completely went off about Taylor on Twitter.
It was just after “word got out” that Taylor had actually written the lyrics for “This Is What You Came For,” and Calvin was having none of it. He tweeted that Taylor should focus on her new relationship (Tom Hiddleston, RIP) instead of “tearing your ex bf down for something to do,” and that she was trying to “bury him like Katy but I’m not the guy.”
Cue applause, bouquets of flowers, Champagne, because it looked like Calvin was 100% fucking done with Taylor’s bullshit and was ready to go on the warpath. Buuuuuut it was all too good to be true. In new quotes that have surfaced from an interview with British GQ last year, Calvin says that he acted on the wrong instinct, and that he just snapped after feeling like his talent was belittled.
He says that he doesn’t blame Taylor but the media circus got to him and blah blah blah are you done yet? Like, sorry if Taylor’s 12-year-old fans aren’t buying your new album, but this is just lame. If Taylor went around apologizing after saying something bad about an ex, she literally wouldn’t have any music left. Her Spotify catalog would basically be “Welcome to New York,” and then some shit from the Hunger Games soundtrack.
Calvin, we liked you. Sometimes your taste in women is questionable, but you’ve given us no less than three Rihanna bangers, and for that we are grateful. Now grow a pair and don’t say anything nice about Taylor Swift ever again.
