When it comes to makeup, finding the perfect foundation is key to achieving a ~flawless~ complexion. But, let’s be honest, high-end foundations can cost more than we spend in a week at Starbucks. That’s why we were excited to discover that the Halo Glow Liquid Filter foundation is a perfect dupe for the Hollywood Flawless Filter foundation—and cost a lot less.
The Hollywood Flawless Filter from Charlotte Tilbury has been a cult favorite among beauty lovers for years, thanks to its ability to give the skin a radiant, lit-from-within glow without a filter. However, at $40 for a 1 oz bottle, it’s not the most budget-friendly option out there.
That’s where the Halo Glow Liquid Filter foundation comes in. At just $14 for a 1.35 oz bottle, this foundation delivers the same radiant, luminous finish as the Hollywood Flawless Filter, but at a significantly lower price point.
So, what makes the Halo Glow Liquid Filter such a great dupe for the Hollywood Flawless Filter? For starters, both products are designed to be used as a primer, foundation, or highlighter, making them incredibly versatile. They also both contain light-reflecting particles that help to blur imperfections and give the skin a radiant, dewy finish.
But while the Hollywood Flawless Filter only comes in seven shades, the Halo Glow Liquid Filter offers a wider range of shades to choose from, making it easier to find a match for your skin tone. The formula is also vegan, cruelty-free, and free from parabens, sulfates, and phthalates, making it a great choice for those with sensitive skin.
In terms of performance, I’ve got to say that the Halo Glow Liquid Filter definitely holds its own against the Hollywood Flawless Filter. Both foundations give the skin a beautiful, radiant finish that looks natural and healthy. And while the Hollywood Flawless Filter might have a slightly more luxurious feel to it, the Halo Glow Liquid Filter is still a fantastic option for those on a budget.
Overall, if you’re a fan of the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter but don’t want to break the bank, the Halo Glow Liquid Filter is a great alternative. It delivers the same radiant, luminous finish as its high-end counterpart, but the price tag won’t make you weep. I say give it a try. Your wallet will thank you.
@theoliviasaurusrex finally comparing the lightest shade of @Charlotte Tilbury flawless filter & @elfyeah halo glow ☺️. the elf one is definitely more orange and thicker in consistency but far more affordable than the flawless filter! what do you think? ☺️ #flawlessfilter #charlottetilbury #charlottetilburydupe #charlottetilburyflawlessfilter #elf #elfhaloglow #elfhaloglowliquidfilter #ctilburymakeup #paleskin #paleskinmakeup #palegirl #palegirls #fairskin #fairskinmakeup #flawlessfilterdupe #glowyskin #dewyskin #primer #flawlessfiltercharlottetilbury #haloglow #haloglowliquidfilter #radiantskin #glowymakeup

Is there anything worse than sifting through countless tubes of mascara, only to be disappointed by the lackluster results? Well your search may be over, because the internet agrees that Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara is the holy grail of mascaras—so much that a tube sells every 10 seconds.
This mascara delivers the full, voluminous lashes of your dreams without breaking the bank. At under $5 a tube, you’ll be wondering why you ever bothered shelling out for those expensive department store mascaras.
The secret to Lash Princess’s magic is in the brush. Its conical shape allows for precision application and the ability to reach every lash, even those tiny ones in the inner corner of your eye. The bristles are densely packed, so you get maximum product with every swipe. The formula is also buildable, so you can layer it on for a more dramatic effect without any clumping.
But let’s talk about the real game-changer: the false lash effect. With Lash Princess, you can skip the falsies and still get the same dramatic look. The mascara lengthens and thickens your lashes, giving you the appearance of falsies without the hassle of applying them. And since the formula is smudge-proof and waterproof, you won’t have to worry about your lashes falling flat halfway through the day.
Not only is this mascara effective, but it’s also cruelty-free. Essence is committed to using only the highest-quality ingredients that are safe for you and the environment. So, you can feel good about using this and know that you’re not contributing to any animal testing.
One thing to note is that the formula is quite wet when you first open the tube. But don’t worry, after a few uses, it’ll dry out a bit and become easier to work with. And if you’re someone who likes to apply multiple coats, you may need to wait a few seconds between applications to let each layer dry a bit.
The bottom line: It’s affordable, effective, and cruelty-free. Plus, who doesn’t want to channel princess vibes with full, fluttery lashes? So go ahead and add this mascara to your cart–your lashes will thank you.

Let me just start by saying that I absolutely *love* Charlotte Tilbury products. That said, I don’t love how quickly my favorites sell out. Sure, that only means that the world thinks they’re as bomb as I do, but what’s a girl to do when she needs to restock her favorite contour wand? Get a similar tube to hold her over, of course.
And, because I’m just like you, I’ve found myself turning over to the same place for my product recommendations now—TikTok. The TikTok girlies are basically giving us one honest review after another (even if it means de-influencing), and when Alix Earle gave Tarte’s Sculpt Tape Contour Wand her approval as a ringer for the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Liquid Contour Wand, I knew it’d sell out just as quick. But, thankfully, I was able to get my hands on it before that happened.
For those who aren’t familiar with how these contour wands work, allow me to give you a quick breakdown. They have a fluffy sponge applicator and a dial that turns to get the pigment out. Once you squeeze about a dime-sized amount of product, you dab it in dots across your face (to contour you want to get your forehead, cheekbones, jawline, and the sides of your nose). From there, you can use a sponge, such as a Beautyblender or a contour brush to blend it out.
My favorite feature about the Charlotte Tilbury wand is how well it blends, and I was pleasantly surprised that Tarte’s had similar, if not the same power. Don’t believe me? See Alix’s side-by-side video comparing the two formulas below.
@alixearle Thoughts ?
Told you so—they’re practically identical. Tarte’s version is available in five different shades: warm bronze, cool bronze, soft bronze, deep bronze, and rich bronze. All are designed to work with a range of skin tones and matching undertones so that everyone can enjoy the sculpting magic. And you can save some money if you get your hands on Tarte’s contour wand as well, since it’s $35 compared to Charlotte Tilbury version at $42. Snag yours directly at Tarte or at Ulta, before the word gets out and it’s gone. Trust us, your vanity and your newly-chiseled cheekbones and jawline will thank you.

Makeup is f*cking expensive. There, I said it. Not all of us have $130 to spend on a single highlighter this month…or this year. Looking at you, La Mer. So, for all of you baddies on a budget, here are my beauty guru-approved makeup items that won’t break the bank. I know that when money is tight, every little bit counts. I’ve been there, and I make sure my money does not go to waste. With your makeup, you always want to make it last as long as possible, so here are a couple of my favorite tips for using highlighter.
One of my all-time favorite beauty hacks require one simple thing, and you can get it right from your sink. WATER! Normally, when we are finished with empty spray bottles, we throw them away. NO MA’AM! Not I. Save those bottles, clean them well, and fill them up with good old H2O. Whether I’m dealing with a name brand beauty blender, a favorite highlighter brush, or en e.l.f. beauty sponge, what I love to do is spray water on my brush/sponge, dip it into my highlighter, and immediately start applying product on the parts of my face that I want to enhance with that banging glow. The water makes the product brighter, and gives it more of a glimmering, metallic appearance.
If you’re looking to make your highlighting products last longer, do what I do! STRRRRRETCH those products out. Here’s another hack I do to make my highlighter last that much longer: I use my beauty sponge to take some of the product, and pat it into my skin, rather than rubbing or brushing it on. By doing that, you’re pushing it in there and blending it out to make it look as glowy as possible! By applying it with the patting method, it evenly buffs it into my skin, basically forcing it to collide with my foundation. Often times, a highlighting brush sheds off most of your product just by moving it back and forth. I tried this beauty hack about three years ago, and trust me, IT WAS A MIRACLE. I not only noticed I was saving product, but I also noticed how beautifully my skin soaked up the highlighter, leaving it with a smooth finish.
Now that you’ve got the best secrets on using highlighter, here are some of my favorite inexpensive options to make your face glowy AF. Take notes.
e.l.f. Cosmetics Baked Highlighter
e.l.f. Baked Highlighter in Moonlight Pearls, $4.00
For $4, this Champagne Pop dupe is a highlighter must-have! I enjoy this highlighter the most when I’m going for a really deep makeup look. I’m talking intense contour paired with a huge pop of shine, all thanks to this less than $5 highlighter. Its golden undertone makes it a lot easier to blend with my bronzer, making everything seem flawless, even if I’m in a rush.
I also love using this highlighter as an eyeshadow—two-in-one! Applying a little bit to my inner corner leaves me looking like I got a full 8 hours of sleep, which literally never happens. That simple pop of brightness can bring together your entire look, and take things to the next level.
Physicians Formula Butter Highlighter
Physicians Formula Butter Highlighter in Champagne, $11.49
I cannot stand patchy makeup products. You can spend forever on a look, and then it’s ruined instantly. Highlighter is normally meant to make your strongest points stand out from the rest of your face, but this highlighter also blends so nicely with the rest of my makeup. It really is like butter. It applies on my cheekbones in the smoothest and creamiest way. The price is a little bit higher than the rest on the list, but it’s definitely worth every cent. Prepare to have a new favorite, so you can thank me later.
Maybelline Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter
Maybelline FaceStudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Molten Gold, $9.99
3 words: PIG-MEN-TATION! (Okay, so those are not exactly distinct words, but you get what I mean.) This metallic highlighter gives a glow like none other. The formula of this product is amazing and the pigmentation is phenomenal—especially for something under $10. You no longer have to dip back into the product 100 times to get the look you want. If you’ve ever had to do that with a crappy highlighter, not anymore!
NYX Land Of Lollies Highlighter
NYX Land of Lollies Highlighter in Powdered Sugar, $5.60
I absolutely LOVE NYX! When I found about this product, I was in love. It’s inexpensive and irreplaceable! This highlighter is not only beautiful in the package, but gorgeous on your actual skin. I love putting this specific highlight color on my nose. I draw an exclamation point, starting from the top of my bridge to the tip at the bottom, and it makes my nose appear Kardashian-level snatched. It leaves my face looking more structured and put together with whatever makeup look I’m going for.
Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighter
Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighter in Precious Petals, $4.69
This $5 Wet ‘n Wild beauty is so amazing that it fits right in with the high-end highlighters. I love this highlighter for a natural, dewy look! It gives me a nice glow without making me look like a complete ball of grease. For an everyday highlighter, this bad boy is the one. Believe me when I say that you would never be able to tell that it was less than $5. Out of all 5 of these beauties, this is my all-time favorite drugstore highlighter.
So way back when—as in like, September—we gave you the 4-1-1 on ASOS’s brand new makeup line. If this is all news to you, it’s fine. Like, I honestly don’t remember what I had for dinner last night. It’s fine. Let me refresh your memory: Just a few weeks ago, ASOS released ASOS Make-Up. That’s literally the name of the collection, so there’s no pretentious BS. It includes everything we need to survive like mascara, contour palettes, and so many nudes (lipsticks, get your mind out of the gutter). It’s all under our spending budget on anything that’s not alcohol-related, aka under $20, and the black and pink packaging is adorable. We wouldn’t buy cute new makeup without telling our friends first, so here we are, being such good friends so you can be obsessed, too.
P.S. There’s free shipping on anything over $40, so all you have to do is buy four of these bitches and you get all the benefits of shopping in a store, but you get to do it on the couch with no pants on. Um, amazing.
1. ASOS Make-Up Mascara in Bossy
If you say you don’t use more than one mascara to perfect your lashes as some form of OCD, that’s just a damn lie. The limit does not exists with how many mascaras you have. This vegan-friendly mascara—just throwing that out there to make us all feel good about our purchases—comes with a super large wand to brush through even the smallest lashes and coats on seamlessly for lashes that look like they’re false. But like, in a good way.
2. ASOS Make-Up Matte Liquid Lipstick in Observant
Two words: nude lipstick. Need I say more? This velvety formula applies as liquid and dries as a matte lipstick that won’t dry out your lips. So, ya, you can toss Kylie aside for a better *and* more affordable option that won’t make your bank account hate you. A little louder for us broke bitches in the back, pls. In addition to their bold shades, ASOS’s neutral shades are on point, tbh. This shade in particular is a combo of beige and pink, a perf fall nude you can add to your never-ending collection.
3. ASOS Make-Up Chubby Highlighter Stick In Tenacious
Finding a highlighter shade that doesn’t make you want to give up on life using makeup is almost like trying to go out without blacking out. Clearly, ASOS knows this is a crucial issue in our day and age, so they’ve created highlighter shades that range from subtle to glitter fest. Now you’ll have no problem finding the perfect one for you and your chiseled cheekbones. Tenacious is an “oyster-pink” shade with the slightest hint of shimmer for a natural-looking glow on any skin tone. Swipe where good lighting hits your face, and blend in with your fingers.
4. ASOS Make-Up Contour Trio Palette In Principled
It’s 2017, so chances are everyone and their grandmother owns a fucking contour palette by now. Actually, IDK about your grandmother. Camille probs doesn’t have one. You know what I mean. Regardless of how many basic contour palettes you’ve swatched and tried, this pressed powder palette comes with options just in case you feel like switching your contour game up—something I’m sure your fave doesn’t even offer. With two different bronzers, you can choose between looking au naturale or going full-out Kim Kardashian.
5. ASOS Make-Up Eyebrow Palette in Determined
If your eyebrows are ever looking anything less than #flawless, what the actual fuck are you doing with your life? And on the off chance that you’re having a midlife crisis and trying to make wiggle eyebrows a thing, don’t even think about fucking looking at me. Like, that’s just the rules of the feminism why eyebrow shaping palettes exist to begin with. This palette is literally called determined, for god’s sake, and it’s obviously determined to help a sista out. It comes with tinted eyebrow wax and 2 pressed powders to shape, highlight, and define to create a killer brow.
