St. Patrick’s Day Recipes: Green Beer and Shamrock Shakes

It’s St. Patrick’s Day and that means you’re probably already drunk. But we get it, it’s midweek and some of you have work. Don’t worry, you can still get into the spirit* (*drunk) quickly with these easy recipes. Just be careful not to drink so much you turn green.

Green Beer:

All you need is a bit of food coloring and clear beer mugs. Get a light beer, like Bud Light or Coors and drop a few drops of that food coloring in there. Mix it and serve.

Shamrock Shakes:

You’ll need:

  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Green food coloring
  • Mint extract
  • 1 ¼ cup Milk
  • Jameson

Scoop 2 or 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream into a blender. Add ¼ teaspoon mint extract (not peppermint), the milk, and 2-3 shots of Jameson.  Finish with 8 drops of food coloring. Blend that together and voila. Garnish with whipped cream, or a 4 leaf clover if you have one.

Congrats, once you drink these you won’t even need to wear green, you’ll be full of green food coloring.
