After an entire juicy season of Summer House, I still have so many questions about Imrul Hassan! It seems the only part of Imrul’s life that Bravo wanted to highlight was his very active sex life (though, for the record, as Imrul clarifies in part one of the reunions, he brought back four total ladies on three different occasions across the entire summer). Sure, mentioning an orgy day one was a wild bit of information to lead with to strangers, but fans have noticed (and provided receipts) that Imrul’s (perhaps more chic moments) appear to be edited out of the show, for whatever reason. Imrul’s “goal” for getting a Summer House platform was to promote a school he was helping build in Southeast Asia. Um, that’s ridiculously sweet, especially considering his co-workers are pimping out the gig for Spotify listens and NYT clout. But at the reunion, we finally learn a little bit more about the handsome honey magnet! Here’s everything Imrul said about his relationship with his family.
Where does Imrul’s family live, and where are they from?
His family was originally from a village in Bangladesh before they relocated to the US, a fact Imrul has shared on social media and in interviews. Recently, Imrul’s parents are back in Bangladesh “for the most part,” as Imrul told Andy Cohen during part one of the reunion. On season 9 of the show, Imrul shared with the group that he was temporarily an undocumented immigrant until he legally gained citizenship through marriage when he turned 23. Imrul’s father moved the family to New York so that they’d be “better off” than the people back home, but for Imrul, formerly living without a green card for a period of time, which he has now rectified, “felt like…you go to the amusement park, you see all these fun rides, and they look amazing, and then someone tells you, well, can’t ride any of those rides.”
Who is Imrul’s brother?

Imrul’s brother and sister-in-law were pregnant in 2019 and had their son in 2020. Imrul’s bro seems to be social media-free. During season 9, Imrul spent a weekend away from the house so he could hang out with his brother and his family, including his “only nephew.” During the reunion, Imrul updated that his charming group-gifted title of “orgy beast” didn’t sit well with some of his family: “My brother had a birthday” for Imrul’s nephew, but after some of his relatives who are “religious” saw the show, they “made a whole stink” about “inviting orgy beast to this birthday.” So, even though his brother didn’t personally care, attending was awkward for Imrul, and “that was the first time it really hit home” that Imrul hadn’t presented the full picture of who he was during his first season.
Imrul’s Father
In May 2025, Imrul shared a heartbreaking update that his father had suddenly passed away via an Instagram Story. “Life is so fragile,” Imrul wrote. “My father passed out very suddenly last night. He was very loved and respected.” Imrul finished the post with “RIP Abu.”
Why did Imrul enter the reunion late and leave early?
So far, part one of the reunion has not revealed why Imrul was late, but Imrul did show up about halfway through part one. When the rest of the male cast (Kyle, Carl, Jesse, and West) posted a picture at dinner after the taping, fans noticed Imrul was missing. When a fan asked about it via DM, Imrul responded, “I left early, a few hours before they wrapped, so that’s part of it. I mean, I dunno. I’m gonna chalk it up to that and move on. It’s all good.” He notably didn’t elaborate on why he had to leave early.
