Caramel Oreo Chocolate Tart Because Summer Is Almost Over

Do you ever just need to be alone with a dessert that no one can shame you about eating? Let it out, betch – it’s okay.

For these terrible times, Ben & Jerry’s or froyo simply will not suffice. You need something special to remind yourself that youre a unique snowflake. Or, you could simply be making this to impress your in-laws/future in-laws/sorority sisters. Either way, this chocolatey, caramely Oreo delight will make you the most popular girl ever; unless you eat too much of it and get fat. The original recipe is on this blog, but we like, made it less work because honestly I don’t have time to make a goddamned crust.


  • 1 Oreo pie crust (find it in the baking aisle)
  • ½ cup butter (8 tbsps)
  • 2/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 ¼ cups heavy whipping cream, divided
  • 1 12 oz bag chocolate chips

In a small saucepan, combine the butter and brown sugar then cook over medium heat – whisking constantly – until the mixture starts bubbling. Cook for another minute then remove from the heat. Slowly (REALLY FUCKING SLOWLY) whisk in ¼ cup of the cream until smooth, then cool the caramel for 15 minutes. Pour over the Oreo crust and throw in the freezer for like 40 minutes until the caramel is chilled and set but not fucking frozen.

Place the chocolate chips in a heat proof glass bowl. In a saucepan, bring the remaining cup of heavy cream to a simmer over medium high heat, then pour the cream over the chocolate and let sit for 5 minutes. Whisk until totally smooth, then pour the chocolate over the caramel and put back in the freezer for 30 minutes.

Feel free to top this shit with salt or strawberries or more cookies or whatever makes you feel loved.
