7 Fruits That Give You Glowing Skin

Every now and again, I have these very short-lived epiphanies that I should care about what I eat and make moves to start a healthy diet. Again, these little “kicks,” as I like to call them, don’t ever last long because, well, pizza and pasta exist. However, while I’m feeling good and in the mood, I decided to step up my fruit game and incorporate more fruits into my daily diet. On that note, I literally just tried avocado for the first time, like, two weeks ago. I’m aware that I am a martian or something at this point. @ me in the comments. So, not only have I been experimenting, but I also started actually caring about the benefits these fruits have on my skin. I know they’re great for my insides or whatever, but are all of them good for my skin, too? Turns out, yeah, all that avo I’ve been missing out on could’ve cleared up some acne for me. Here are the fruits that give you glowing skin.

1. Kiwi

Apparently, kiwis carry more Vitamin C than oranges. Wow. I guess you really learn something new every day. In case you didn’t already know, Vitamin C is the key to all of your glowing skin needs. This helps boost your immune system so you’re bound to get sick way less often and keep your skin looking fresh and youthful. Win-win.

2. Lemon

I’ve been incorporating lemon in my beauty routine for years now, and I have absolutely no regrets. All of the lemon water you order at restaurants goes to a good cause, I swear. Since they’re citrus fruits, they reduce acne scars and blemishes to promote an even and clear skin tone. Drinking lemon concoctions are almost just as good as putting it directly on your face. Who knew?

3. Avocado

I couldn’t put this first on the list because then that would’ve been too biased. Everyone knows and practically hails this super fruit for tasting amazing and simultaneously offering some pretty damn good benefits. They contain both biotin and Vitamin E, two must-haves for flawless skin. Biotin promotes cell growth while Vitamin E serves as a “skin protector” to encourage refreshed glowing skin. More avocado toast, please.

4. Açaí Berry

These berries actually do a hell of a lot for your skin other than getting you some likes because you posted your açai bowl on Instagram. Bless. Not only are they good for your skin, but they’re good for your hair too because they contain Vitamins A, B, C,  and E. AMAZING. This will help revive your skin so you can look (and feel) young again, repair damaged skin cells, and restore necessary moisture.

 5. Strawberries

Strawberries are always a good idea and anyone who doesn’t like them has some serious issues. They’re basically the one fruit you should be remembering to eat on a daily basis for the sole reason that they contain salicylic acid. Yes, that ingredient that is in probably every one of your facial cleansers, washes, and treatments. The magical acid thoroughly cleans and unclogs your pores to prevent new pimples from emerging.

6. Coconut

Coconut anything is usually a miracle worker when it comes to your beauty regimen. It offers a ton of benefits for your skin, hair, nails, and digestive system. They’re an amazing natural moisturizer, skin healer, and skin protectant. Coconut also helps reduce stubborn swelling and keeps gross harmful bacteria at bay.

7. Pitaya AKA Dragon Fruit

Move aside, açai berries. This new and hot ~exotic~ fruit is becoming all the rage thanks to Instagram (again) and all of the bowl creations coming with it. The bright pink fruit looks prettier than I’ll ever be, and it also helps your skin look flawless. Since it’s v high in antioxidants, it perks those cheekbones up and aids in brightening your skin tone for the perfect youthful glow this summer.
