Taylor Swift has proven herself to be quite the Kris Jenner-esque businesswoman in recent years. I mean, who else remembers that time she just NBD trademarked a bunch of slick phrases from her songs. Pretty sure none of us are allowed to even say “this sick beat” without paying her a royalty of 5 cats.
Well her most recent business move is that she is basically boycotting YouTube. Her and a bunch of other major artists have singed a “letter to Congress asking for the reform of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (D.M.C.A.), which oversees copyright online.” Basically they think that YouTube is exploiting a loophole in the copyright laws in order to stiff them out of millions.
I hate to say it, but I’m a Swiftie on this one. The girl is obviously looking for more ways to stick it to Calvin Harris, and a boatload of money will definitely help. Although, she could always just break up with Tom Hiddleston at the end of the summer and write 20 more songs about how she had her heart broken by a guy.
