So Shia LaBeouf had a busy weekend. His #TOUCHMYSOUL project launched over the weekend, which involved LaBeouf accepting phone calls at Liverpool’s Fact Gallery Thursday through Sunday. Shia collaborated with Nastja Sade Ronkko and Luke Turner (a.k.a. two nobodies).
The chats were streamed online, and as you can imagine, featured a ton of weird-ass comments. For example, one psycho called and said “I’ll kill you” and immediately hung up. Sounds like an awesome Friday night!
Others used this performance art piece as a search engine: “I wanted to ask you what is the main difference between Abu Dhabi and Dubai?” Google it, nerd.
Still others used this as a fan-girling mechanism:
“I’m shaking right now
I’m so nervous
I’ve been calling forever
I just wanted you to know that
when I see you
I see art.
i want you to be happy.”
Some of the people that called in to chat were actually kind of normal…like this 8-year-old which was kind of adorable:
I’m Jack and I’m 8 years old
I’m a big fan of you.”
But then there were the space cadets. “How can i touch your soul when it’s already being held by the creator of the universe. What tools do i have to reach your soul?
You can read the rest of this shitty banter on the Touch My Soul website. I can’t wait to see what Shia’s next “performance art” will be. Hopefully it revolves around him reverting back to his former hotness and doing another installment of Transformers.
