In today’s news of plebeians kissing Queen Taylor Swift’s ass, Ryan Adams, who covered Swift’s entire album 1989 (IDK why he’s so obsessed with her), has just made the most hyperbolic statement of all time. In an interview with The Guardian, Adams explains his previous work in the music industry as akin to “filming Ghostbusters” and then concludes that covering Tay’s album was like having “to go do Shakespeare.”
First of all, that doesn’t really make sense because Ghostbusters was a movie and Shakespeare was a poet, and like, you’d think we’d live in a world where I didn’t have to point that out, but NO. I guess I just have to assume that Adams has never really read Shakespeare, or like poetry at all. Or like IDK maybe even a book?
Anyway, everyone take a moment of silence for some of Taylor Swift’s most Shakespearian lyrics: “Corey’s eyes are like the jungle/He smiles it’s like the radio”, “So go and tell your friends that I’m obsessive and crazy (true)/ That’s fine I’ll go tell mine that you’re gay!” or personal fave, “All you are is mean…mean, and mean, and mean, and mean.”
S/o to Shakespeare, who doth be rolling the fuck over in his grave right now.
