Hip hip hooray! It’s the holidays – which, for us, means it’s time for gratuitous drinking! Whether you’ve picked your poison with rum, tequila, or whiskey, there’s no denying that this magical time of year is a time for experimenting with drink recipes.
With that in mind, we already gave you a recipe for a pomegranate whiskey drank AND a coconut eggnog. Today, Christmas Eve, we give you the magical French Harvest, complete with rosemary simple syrup and Calvados Boulard VSOP, AND the deliciously addicting Chocolate Peppermint Cookie with has our favorite holiday friend, tequila!
French Harvest – created by Jose Torella, InterContinental Barclay, NYC
· 1 oz. Calvados Boulard VSOP
· 1 oz. apple juice
· .5 oz. rosemary simple syrup – to make this boil equal parts sugar and water for 30 minutes, then chill in the fridge and infuse with 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary for one day
· .5 oz. fresh lemon juice
· .25 oz. Chambord wine
So, there are some weird ingredients here, but it’ll make your drank that much better. Shake and strain together the Calvados, apple juice, simple syrup, and lemon juice into a martini glass. Pour the Chambord on top. Bam. Delicious.
Chocolate Peppermint Cookie
· .75 oz. tequila – we used Partida Blanco Tequila
· 1 oz. peppermint schnapps
· .75 oz. Godiva liquor
· 1.5 oz. cream
Rim a martini with chocolate syrup and crushed candy canes which I’m sure you have lying around. Shake all of the ingredients together in a shaker with ice and strain into the festive martini glass. Voila.
