Inside The Ultra-Lux Delta One Lounge From The POV Of A Coach Girlie

I’m going to start off with a disclaimer: I have never flown higher than “extra leg room” status in my life. But with that being said, I’m a girl who enjoys the finer thingsso when I got invited to the Delta One Lounge at JFK for the press preview back in June, I obviously showed TF up.

My first impression of the Delta One Lounge opening was exactly as you could imagine. I was basically thinking, “How am I here right now?” every five seconds. I mean, the second you walk in, it looks like a 5-star hotel with an iconic bar, sky terrace, wellness spa, business pods, and, wait for it, a Brasserie. A BRASSERIE. Because I speak coach, I had to google that (it’s a fancy way to say restaurant). But with a three-course menu and any food item you could want, I’ll call it heaven for all I care. Upon leaving the preview, I was gifted my personal version of Willy Wonka’s Golden Ticket: two passes to the Delta One Lounge for a future visit, regardless of my flight ticket.

My Experience in the New Delta One Lounge

Fast forward a few months, it’s time to cash in. I was going on a nice wholesome vacation with my family, but I obviously had to stir the pot and flex that I, Alex Teri, am a proud holder of Delta One Lounge Passes. So, I did what any wanna-be exclusive person would do and ditched the fam for the high class experience I’ve been craving. And boy was it worth it.

Now that I’m a (self-proclaimed) regular, I’ll abbreviate the lounge to DOL for the sake of this article.

When I arrived at the DOL, I was greeted by the scent of absolute luxury. I don’t know what they’re pumping through the vents in there, but the place radiates excellence. Now, as any beauty lover would do, my first step was bee-lining to the spa. The DOL puts all other lounges to shame as they offer full body massages and facials, brought to you by Grown Alchemist products and certified therapists. In case those services are booked, the spa also offers Hyperice self-care devices, massage guns, and other wellness tools like Normatec compression boots (yeah, I hadn’t heard of those until now, either). A communal chair massager could never. And as if that wasn’t enough, I got to down wellness drinks and spa water to keep the zen vibes going.

After my treatments, I ate my way through the buffet area (I didn’t have enough time for the three-course meal they offerwhat a shame) and got a mimosa at the bar. Then, I cozied up in a business pod, cranked out some last minute work (aka, started this article), and had some quiet time to myself. Now, this part is crazy, but I even got to have my clothes pressed and shoes shined while I waited in a robe in one of the private bathroom suites. My peace and serenity were broken by a phone call from my mom reminding me it was almost time to boardlame. I completely forgot I haven’t even started my vacation yet because the DOL is that good.

Is the Delta One Lounge Worth the Price Of A Business Class Plane Ticket?

As someone who’s only ever known the hustle of boarding from the back of the plane and surviving on pretzels, stepping into the DOL felt like entering a simulation… it was the kind of luxury I’d try to manifest by watching movies or doom-scrolling celeb social content. I can go on and on about how the DOL is amazing, but the reality is it changes the game for air travel, whether you are going on a business or leisure trip. Instead of the trip starting when you land, it starts the second you get to the airport.

As a coach girlie, it’s clear I need to rack up my SkyMiles and even splurge on Delta One every so often so I can revisit my home away from home.
