Since news broke Sunday night that Bachelor in Paradise was suspending filming, a lot of shit has come out, and none of it sounds good tbh. We’ve heard from a lot of people: DeMario, Corinne, “unnamed contestants” who spoke to PEOPLE… but now, someone close to the incident is releasing an actual statement and not just having his “sources” leaking it to TMZ. That’s right, Chris Harrison released a statement about what happened on Bachelor in Paradise. See, I told you this wouldn’t be the last we heard of this scandal.
It’s a pretty long statement and I know you’re all
ADD at work so I’ll just pick out the most important parts so we all get the gist. #ResponsibleJournalism
His statement begins, “By now, no doubt, you have heard that we have suspended production on this season’s Bachelor in Paradise. I can confirm to you that this is sadly the case. Out of respect to all involved, there’s only so much I can and will say at this time. Normally with a situation like this I would not say anything until the incident is fully resolved, but with all the rumors and misinformation being put out there, I don’t find that to be possible anymore.”
Translation: Normally I’d keep my mouth shut but y’all mothafuckas keep blowing up my phone so I’ve gotta say my piece. (This is how Chris Harrison talks in my head.)
He continues, “An investigation into the situation was started immediately. Warner Bros. is handling the details of that investigation. They’re moving quickly to gather all the facts, and once that’s done, a clear, concise decision can be made about where we go from here.”
Translation: Warner Bros is already on top of it and tryna
minimize blowback from this PR disaster figure out WTF happened, so y’all need to chill tf out with your armchair detective work.
“There are a lot of competing details in the various press accounts of the incident. And there’s a lot of misinformation out there too. We urge everyone to be patient until the investigation is complete.”
Translation: The liberal media is lying to you! Fake news!
“I know in this day and age we want — and even expect — immediate answers, but in this case, it’s just not possible. So again, I urge you to please be patient and respect the privacy of the parties involved.”
Translation: Don’t fucking @ me; Warner Bros. will give you all the info when we damn well feel like giving you all the info.
“We’re sorry for any inconvenience and disappointment this may have caused the cast, the crew and our loyal fans. It is my sincere hope that we can come to a quick resolution on this and get back to work very soon.”
Translation: This shit ain’t never coming back. Sorry Raven, I know you were supposed to be swimming in orgasms in Mexico this summer but it ain’t happening.
So there you have Chris Harrison’s statement. He said a lot without saying much of anything tbh. Guess we’ll just have to wait for this investigation to be completed.
