Yesterday, “The Cut” posted an article claiming that our favorite BadGalRiRi would launch a line of her own cannabis products called MaRihanna, which is literally amazing except for the fact that it isn’t true. Her publicist responded to the publication earlier today with a letter firmly denying the claims, and effectively crushed the dreams of stoner betches everywhere. In response to this, we’d just like to point out that this is a very short turnaround to reject what’s basically the best business pitch ever. So like…are they sure?
The initial coverage on MaRihanna was somewhat vague but had enough valid ideas that it could 100% be reappropriated into a legitimate marketing effort. The article stated that Rihanna had announced her new line while attending the High Times Cannabis Cup in Jamaica last weekend, and that it would offer three strains: Karribean Kush, Haitian Haze and Jamaican High Grade. It would be sold in the legal markets of Colorado, Washington, Alaska and Oregon, which all sound great except for the part about Oregon, which I forgot was a state. RiRi would have some competition from other stoner celebs releasing products of their own, like Snoop and Willie Nelson, but whatever. She would clearly kill it and this idea is solid gold.
More than anyone, betches know how to take someone else’s hard work and turn it into our own by delivering it in a better way and with a hotter face. We’re not here to suggest that Rihanna was always coming out with a line of pot products, but that she should be. And probably would be if we were handling her PR. Just saying.
